oh yes.... the rumors you have heard are true. earlier this evening i was out on the town getting some dinner with the gf when, whats that my gf spotted in the oncoming lane.. yes a shiney red lamborgini countach. i wanted to get a look at this rare beast so i pulled a u turn at the next possible route. Yes, this car was caught by the light directly behind a motorcycle (dont know what kind and dont really care).. i pull up directly behind him (damn dont think he can even see me but in his side views). kill the radio. give the eclipse a little blip.. the bull grunts back.. "your gonna get waxed" "i dont care baby i wanna see it get up and go".. blip.. snort...blip.. snort.. green.. motorcycle takes off as fast as it could.. wasnt a crotch rocket but still not slow.. the bull peels off in tow.. i manage to stay close behind.. ohhh yesss now its go time.. the lambo changes lanes and stomps.. i do the same. remarkably i was only slowly losing ground..then the driver slams on brakes.. im like "what the %&*#" and then i see a speed trap up ahead.. didnt mess with us (wiping sweat from expensively insured forehead). The car then pulls off into... get this... the dollar theater.. i pulled in to look at the car and chat.. when i get there the guys gf is getting back in the car.. oh well.. the guy trys to start the car.. sounds rough.. in fact it takes him three attempts.. now i know some, especially older, exotics run real rough at idle and can be a pain to start but what the hell.. seeing as how i stayed with the guy on our *short* sprint i figure the car MUST be out of tune or something. i mean no way the t-25 gclipse can play with any italian art.. just cant believe it

Well, do you have any timeslips to know what you're car will run?
Don't know about the car, but it was over 10 years old. What crossed my mind was that maybe it was a kit. I know they've got Ferrari kits, one live right near me, that come with Chevy V8's, but I've never heard of a Lambo kit. Who knows??

that crossed my mind, both that it is .. that model debuted in 83 so... potentially 18 years old. didnt sound like a kit, sounded authentic. heard lots of ferrari's both v-8's, v-8 twin turbo's, and v-12's and it had a similar tune to it. or i could be yet another fool to a very good hobbyist. either way, it got by blood pumping.

Sweet! I almost raced a testarrosa but the guy was in "chillin' mode" he didn't want to race. It's cool to race some exotic machines just for the hell of it!

Damn, I almost never get to see exotics let alone run with one. The only Ferrari I have seen in the area is a new Modena and I was too dumb founded to pull a u-turn and chase it.

well ive seen some kits before and what confuses me is u can usually tell from the sound.. a v6 or a domestic v8 willnot and cannot ever sound like a real italian car.. most definatly not when accelerating. i have had the joy of hearing and seeing a race prepped testarossa rip up some asphalt and it sounded very very similiar.. rough deep .. real rough idle. almost to the point of stalling. and at high rpm it smoothed out and sent chills down the back of my neck. same thing with this car. not to mention that the car showed a little age and after doing some research in the duPont Registry, i've found a countach can be had for what a new nsx is and we have cars that expensive around here. we also have a fair amount of 355's and a few 360 Modena's.. lots of Porsches, and i've heard rumors of diablo owners here but never seen one. also.. i found that depending on the year, a countach has between 325 and 425 hp.. not *that* impressive. it was about the same size roughly as my car but had massive real wheels. figure with something on the speedo it may have had as little as 300 or 275 if out of tune and then is would be in a reasonible range for me to keep up with it. (not to mention i doubt a lambo owner would flat out hammer gears either).
BTW check out www.lear2000.com (http://www.lear2000.com) a really nice diablo replica car that advertises in the duPont Registry
