Killed STory from the past

In my days of youth and less wisdom, I used to take my 90AWD to the local drag race streets (for those of you from Queens, NY - Frany Lou Blvd.) and repeatedly trounced, mauled and obliterated all the 5.0's Irocs, M-3's, the few vettes that raced and even 300zx turbos on a good day (car was bone stock back then except for a dynomax cat-back). My favorite story from back then though, is one where I LOST.

So I'm cruising at about 2am w/ my friend (extra weight), stop at a light, and some large old muscle car of some sort pulls up BEHIND me, not next to me and starts revving. My friend and I start laughing that someone is giving ME a head start. I start revving, light turns green, and I pull the launch of my life (at the time) as I quickly pull away from the beast behind me. Halfway through 2nd, I see the lights behind me get bigger, punch it into 3rd, I see the lights behind me change lanes to my right, halfway through 3rd I see a big green/black baraccuda by my side slowly passing me. Shift into 4th, its all over as he takes a 2 car lead. At the next light the guy informs me he had a big block, and was quite surprised it took him so long to pass me. DOHHHH!

Hey Nick I have never been to Franny Lou... how does a 12 second Diamond Star fair down there these days?

Ted, I haven't "raced" at Franny Lou for over 5 years. Way too many cops these days, & I can't afford to get arrested now that I'm an "adult", and I use the term adult loosely.
Back then, a 12 second DSM would beat anything & everything. Craig Paisly used to race his white 90 talon back then & spank everyone. I saw him waste a 911 turbo once. These days all I see there are honda accords & VW's w/ 5" tips, w/ your occasional stang for good measure. Not to name names, but there are still DSMers who race at Franny Lou. A certain champaigne 90 which runs reaaaalll low 12's, the maroon/bondo/primer 1G, and even our friend redgsx I believe.

I've never been to Franny Lew, but, I used to go to Fountain Avenue in Brooklyn when I had a Turbo Supra. That place was the wildest scene. There would be trailered cars there. You'd see stuff like Toyota starlets with big block V8s and straight pipes.

There also used to be a lot of GNXs running 30lbs of boost! And of course there'd be the 1G RX7s that looked like sh*t but would win more often than lose.

They even had a makeshift starting tree. Is there anywhere on LI where guys street race today? I'm too old to participate, I'm supposed to be an adult now (wife & 2 kids), but, I still like to watch. And I do plan to run at Westhampton as soon as I get an exhaust system.

How about HuntsPoint or Zerega Ave? I hav enot been there In like a year but last time we went I was racing with a NA 90 300zx.... this is one slow car but back then it was the ***!? to me and my friend. Until that is til HuntsPoint, we got our AZZ kicked by everything Civics, SEntra Se-Rs, all teh TTs 3000s, 300s, supras, stealths, rx7s. We lost to evrything and anything. The last time I went there was alot of DSMS mainly t/e but some Vr4s, fast ones. Now I hear alot of cars are trailered there Lots of GNs and turbo civic gsrs and typeRs
