This is a old story, but I am new to the list. This was back when I owned my 97 TSI FWD (16g'd, 550, afc, 3"exhuast, running 20 psi). Now I have a 92 TSI AWD. I was out running around with a friend of mine, when we spot a Black 2000 Camero SS with temp tags on it. My buddy says to me "catch up to him". So I do, and get next to him, then spool/spin tires (hehe, fwd). He looks over. Some guy in his late 20's. He didnt seem to want to go. So I get in front of him so he can read my plate (V8 KLLR). He then swings around and gets next to me. "Now he is game" I think. We both take off, but came up on traffic right away. He gets over ahead of me and gets on the interstate (471 South from Southgate). I follow. At the end of the ramp he takes off crossing 3 lanes, I follow, but miss 3rd. Damn.... I let him go, but then catch up to him i little later. We merge onto another Interstate from the one we are on(kentucky 471 South to 275 east). Same thing happens he takes off, so do I. This time I nail third and stay right on his ass. We come up on traffic again. We drive in traffic for a while. Then I see the right lane is clear, but merges in 3 miles. I proceed to get over. He slows down (to get around cars next to him) and follows me over. Then pins himself to my ass. So I drop to third and nail it. He is really hanging on. I was kinda pissed that he was in my draft. By the top of third I could notice the gap increase. I make i perfect shift to 4th. Now I am sure. I am slowly pulling away (more in forth gear). The lane was ending shortly. I stay on it. squeeze in front of a semi. He has to brake (HARD) and get behind him. I got a total of 2-3 car lengths on him. I was laughing for the next couple of miles. Never seen him again. Rush hour traffic got really thick... Bet he was second thinking his investment. ;-P
