Neck and neck with an RX7

So me and my gf are going to her house and she is following me in her Sunfire (always fun loosing her she gets all pissed lol) when I see a new V6 stang in front of me at the next light. Try to get him to run, but he makes a right instead. Then I see something coming up behind me as we come to an intersection where we gotta turn left. It was a 2G RX7 probably around 1990 with a big Nitto sticker in the windshield. So were waiting for the left turnsignal to change with me in front and the RX7 behind. The light changes and I step on it and he is right behind. We turn onto a 3 lane road me in the middle lane and him in the left. I hear him punch it as his nose gets up to my mirror and i punch it a split second later from about 3500 in second. I floor it take it all the way up to redlline and he is still there in the same spot, his nose at my mirror. He shifts to third and I second later so do I. Still flooring it he is right there with me not moving an inch right at my mirror. Shift to 4th and now maybe a start to gain a couple inches but he had enough and slams on the brakes. Probably smart as we were going at arrest me speeds in the 45. I wanted to talk to him to see what he had but he turned off right away. It was a great race, what a rush. Would have been interesting to go from a stop, I probably would have gotten a little lead with my awd. I hope I'll see this guy again when I get some mods. oh yeah it was definately a turbo, I could hear it singing next to me the whole time :) And I had to pull over and wait about 2 min for gf to catch up :D

I've encountered those second gen RX7's myself and let me tell you, with a few mods, they are light and fast.
I actually have a simular kill story I should post, but basically this guy was slowing and waiting for me in the right lane one night on a 2 lane highway. As I start to pass I hear him floor it, so I do too! I jumped about a car length and very slowly pulled away inch by inch. But he was right there though and not making it an easy kill!

Yea try racing the 1995 rx7 turbos. Now thats a race. I have a A/T 16g @ 15 psi with the AVCR and man I had him real bad in first out of the light about 2 or so cars but man wait till those rx's hit 2nd, WOW. I have never seen someone gain on me like that. He closed that 2 so fast and put about 1 on me. made me look like a honda. after that it he slowly inched on me in 3rd and part or 4th. He had his turbo at i think stock 9 psi but had an exhaust. Either way nice car, and looks great.

On a side note, man i whopped a 2g eclipse today. How loud are the stock BOVs on the 2gs? Because I could hear his goin off as i just started puttin cars on him.

Hell yeah. 3rd Gen RX-7s haul ass.

I was in Miami last year as a passenger in my friend's ride ('95 3000GT, but with modded engine heads, so basically he increased displacement). Damn his car made good torque, very powerful.

So at the green light 1st gear with the RX-7 (2 passengers) was like ok for both cars, then hit shifts FAST into 2nd, DAMN! The thing jumps forward like a black-hole just opened up in front of it.

As a side note, same car, but racing a CLK Mercedes...it must have been a 430, cuz man, my friend was punching it hard in 4th, and the Mercedes flew by, with the top down!!!

German vehicles strike fear into the hearts of all cars at high speed. Well unless you have a Supra Turbo or something.
