ok im coming home from a friends pad and had only two beers so my wife tells me i can drive if i dont speed, i roll my eyes and agree to her impossable demands. well to get home i have to drive down a popular cruze spot known as Ranceer blv. after cruzing about 5 min this kid in a LOUD ASS civic pulls up and starts to push me around with his exaust. at this point my wife starts to pinch my leg with her stone cold peoples pinch she learned from her korean dojoe master(her mom). so i just let him go(damnit). next light we pull up to he does to same thing but with a friend in his passanger side laghing and pointing at me.(my wife says he was waving at some chiks) but i know he was mocking me. Ok now im mad and i swear i will catch him at the next light, half way to the light a cop pulls in behind me and follows. in the meen time the jack a$$ in the civic is flexing his flowmaster and poping his clutch. we pull up to the next light and i hang back from the line a bit so the cops doesnt think im racing(i dont know, made sence at the time). well the cop switches lanes and pulls up next to me so now he is behind the loud ass civic. to my amazment the guy didnt see the cop and proceded to act like a jack ass, i look over a the cop and he looks at me and smiles this mr grinch smile :D as was followed buy my grinchyer smile :D. i pulled up next to the civic and gave him a lil bov salute and it was on. the light turned and it was all she wrote he was gone like a bat out of hell tires burning and all, fast on his tail mr grinch lights blazing. man i feel bad. ok know i dont. i sould have taken a picture of the look on that kids face when i rolled buy, o man i can see it know.

HEY great kill man :D
When I've lived in Des Plaines IL, I hated all cops just by the way they talked to me, but now it's a different story I live in the town that must have the coolest cops ever, after they get you for speeding or racing they'll give me a ticked (which I know I deserve) but at least they're cool about it they will always talk about my car and how they still can't believe that I've smoked all four tires at the light :D There's even one cop that has a turbo'd Mazda miata doing high 13's… i know, i know it's a mazda, - but at least he races, has a turbo and it’s not some V8 :)

I met this guy at a local speed shop with a nice 1G Eclipse. He had his hood open so I went over to see what he's got and chatted for a while. He was a real car guy, had a 70's V8 Camaro, a highly modified Starion and now this slightly modded Eclipse. We exchanged email addresses and he told me he knew of some good back roads to go run our cars on. He also hooked me up with a good local DSM mechanic.
When I talk to the mechanic I find out this guy was a cop. Like someone said above Cops are people too! Personally I think they all like to drive fast!

hehe, one of the fastest dsm's in the country is a cop...."lyle henry" or "lyle homes" ring a bell. he is out of extreme motorsports and is a fairfax county virgina cop. you can view some info on him here http://www.extrememotorsports.com/team/lyleh.htm
the cops in my area are "hard asses" to but i don't hate them for it, everytime i go 50 in a 35 i know i'm breakin the law and they are there to enforce the law. just imagine if there were no cops, some guy in a honda would shoot us and steal our car after we smoked him :D . sometimes the cops just don't have anything better to do then try to keep up with the dsm's, and when they can't they get all mad and pull us over :D :D :D

the cops around here can be a$$ holes but just like anybody they have ther hard days to. and im sure when they pull over a kid for speeding and get some smart mouthed brat running his(or her) mouth it doesnt make things better.(not calling anybody a brat just an example)
you should try this experiment Bulldog, next time your pulled over be sivle and have a smile thes people work long days and hard hours.
now if he or she is still an a$$ then feel free to call him names or what have you. some of them can just be straight d!*ks no matter what.

i know alot of cops.. if you are the on the wrong side of the law, they have to be aholes half the time from the crap beat cops have to put up with. if you are on the right side of the law for the most part they are cool. if you had people running from you, feeding you bs exuses and fighting back when you try to do your job, then you would approach everyone a little different as well

My wife is a dispatcher and finishing school to be a cop here outside of San Antonio. I must admit some cops can be fools but some are cool. I never knew anyone that was a cop when I was younger but now it's cool. Like for instance one night the guys were bored and I picked up my wife. They love my car (97 GS-T) out here they all have trucks. Any how they started talkin smack about how they could catch me. So we had a race two Sheriffs in Crown Vics and us completely stock. It was like midnight or something down a highway we raced to the county line then it was over needless to say they never caught us. It was wierd though to see two cops in my mirror with lights on giving chase, I wonder what other people thought. Let's just say one of our DPS friends with a Camaro has been waiting to see if he can catch us. To bad it's been raining.
But back to the question of cops being a$$es yes there was this one new cop that had never met me and he pulled me over for going 2 miles over the speed limit. When my plates went through everyone knew it was me except him. Afterwards he apologized and he was told not to be pulling cars over just cause they're sports cars or young people are driving (I'm 23). Some cops are cool some aren't, just depends but yes they are human too.

I like cops.
At least that is the attitude i carry when i'm talking to them (eapecially with their lights flashing in my rearview)
What i've found is that the cooler you are to the cop, the cooler they are to you. Now im not talking about sucking up to them or being fake, im saying that if you act content when you see them( this can be hard to do) and you talk to them politely and freindly, they will be cool back.
Just treat them like real people who have families to go home to. If its a sheriff, greet him(or her) with a "hello sheriff" when they aproach or trooper or officer. If nothing else you will help to put them at ease and make them more compfortable with you. They are less likely to give you as severe of a ticket or whatever. Granted it might not get you off the hook, but it can only help to minimize the penelty.
There is a book i read awhile ago called the speeders guide to speeding, or something like that. It was written by a retired cop and it had some really excellent info in it. I highly recommend it.
By the way...
That was and awsome kill. I was laughing my a$$ off!

My father is a cop and one of the main things he tries to stress to me is attitude...8 times out of 10 if you have a good attitude and not trying to lie you'll probably get off easy(maybe thats just me) I actually got popped racing one of the 2million trucks here in TX with a cop right behind me. When the cop pulled me over he asked why was I racing, I told him I was just being stupid and showing off in front of my gf. The cop came back and said the other guy told him he was not racing but rushing to get home!! Guess who got off with a warning and who got the ticket.(My warning from the cop was "next time you race, make sure the cops arent behind you) :D
First off...awesome kill! It sounds like the cop wanted you to set it up for him...great!
FWIW - cops are just doing a job that involves looking out for your safety most of the time. Sometimes we may get caught, and that's not their fault.
I was "killing the freeway" a few weeks back and this new silver lexus tried to pass me in the left lane...needless to say he couldn't. We hit the top of a hill in the road when who's at the bottom waiting, "Roscoe P. Coltrain." That cop jumped on his bike and was behind us in seconds! Now the lexus started slowing down and looking guilty so he got a ticket, I just had to change my shorts when I got home. As fast as we were going I was sure he'd radio ahead to somebody. Cops are cool!
IMHO - Calling a cop a "pig" is uncalled for and uncool.

Dang, $400 for 75 in 55? That is BULL!!! They aren't protecting anybody, just raping your wallet. Geez. Why so much?

I don't think anyone can beat: doing 130mph in a 30mph zone, not signaling, drag racing, reckless driving, going through two stop signs and running a yellow light. Best Part......I didn't get one ticket, so that cop was defiantly a really cool guy! Though every other cop I have ever meet was a A$$hole.

Well you cn just say I hate cops. But its my own fault. I diserved it. I was going about 100 in my POS!!! Mustang. I got pulled over for passing a the left lane by an unmarked car. That basterd was such a dick to me. Maybe because I was 16 going 100 mph in a 35. Hmm go figure. Well now here it is 2 weeks before I get my liecense out and get to take my 91 Talon out for the 1st time. Damn I hope I dont get caught again. Oh well. But again it was my fault. All i know is I learned my lesson. Check the rear view before doing something stupid. Piece.

Hey CustomLeatherGuy, how bout 125 in a 55, no proof of insurance, no front licence plate, no seatbelt, expired: DL, registration and inspection. 85 Pontiac Trans AM GTA, T-tops down.
I passed his old Jeep Cherokee-Game Warden mobile doing about 115 mph Didn't even notice it was a cop untill I had passed him way the hell up, and he started flashing the good old red white and blue. I pulled over (you can never outrun a Motorola!!!). He let me know what I had done wrong, and let me go. Very, very, very, very cool old man.

I had a cop friend in Oklahoma who was also a DSM lover. One night when I was hangin out with him, we decided to leave where we were sitting, and go to the local convienience store to get something to drink. He was in his cruiser, and I was in my 92 AWD(at the time) and he suddenly turned on his rear lights, and stopped on the highway. I pulled up next to him, and he said that he wanted to see how fast his cruiser was.(CROWN VIC) So we took off, and I left him like he was going backwards! I kept on the throttle for quite a while, and let off. He finally caught up to me, and told me I was doing almost 130. So we did several pulls when we were at speed, and each time, I walked away from him. ( This was at like 3am, no cars out, and in the middle of no where) He was kinda down on the performance on his cruiser, but it sure was fun to me!
Oh, and another time, I was sitting at a stoplight, with a Oklahoma City cop righ next to me in the right lane reading some mail or something in his car. I was in my 95 AWD, and this dummy that was going through the intersection driving a glass-pack-equipped, green headlighted, "CUSTOMIZED", old ass S-10 pickup, thought he would impress me by reving his loud crummy-sounding exhaust, and gunning it. Boy did he have a smile on his face too! Then the cop looked up, and over at me, yelled at me "where did that come from?" and I said, "it was that Dummy in this S-10", and pointed in the direction, so he proceeded to turn around with his lights on, and went after him. I would have liked to see the look on that guys face when he saw those lights!

thats nothing...i get pulled over about 2 in the morning after leaving my g/f's house. i am sittin at a light when this green ranger pulls up and start revving it like crazy. he's got glasspacks and anthing and everything to make it loud, but there was construction so he is blowing dirt all over my car with his exhaust. if i crept up he would to. by now i am pissed cause the light is 3 hours long. well it turns green and i spin some feather the clutch and take off. he is still trying to getsome rear wheel traction, only he is making alot of tire noise. well little did i know there was a cop in the parking lot ahead when i go flying buy. i saw him pull out after me so i just pulled over and waited. now this is in bedford, tx, where the cops are real b!tch$. well i found out that he saw the whole thing and all he wanted to do was know what the loud noise was from my car. i soon figure out that he is talking about my turbo after it spools up(drowns out most V8's :D) we talk for a while and he lets me go. then he asks about the truck and i said i knew where he lived. let him follow me to the guys house and he wrote him a ticket and left it on his window. i couln't believe it. i just went straight home and considered my self lucky because i was going 80 in a 40 and the truck ended up with the "exhibition of speed ticket" i think he was the only cool cop in the d/fw area!!!
peace out

ya i am in missouri, one time a new monte carlo SS pulled up to me at a stop light and was revving his motor, it was some teenagers with temp tags in the window, looks like they just picked it up (or his parents) and had some friends in there with him and i guess he was wanting to show his friends how fast it was, well I wasnt really in the mood, plus this isnt a big town (10k people) and usually cops out thick on the weekends so I was worried about them too so i just decided to let him race himself. So he spun off when it turned green, i think he got up to about 30-35mph when i see right beside me lights come on. A cop right behind us that neither of us had seen, since he was ahead off me I got to cruise past him pulling over, man everytime i picture the look on his face it makes me smile ;)
besides me there is not modded dsm's in town and only like 3 or 4 awd's at all, i dont think anyone knows anything about them in this hick town. Like a redneck in a late 80's f150 tried to race me but i wouldnt and the next day his girlfriend told mine that dont worry about it I wouldnt of stood a chance anyway because he rebuilt his own motor and it has close to 200hp, that made me laugh. Had several people try to races me, i never bite though, i only like to race were i know there wont be any cops, i did street race a stealth once to like 35mph from a light because he would not leave me alone and kept trying to race so I just wanted him to leave me alone, the results where pretty bad for him.
I once went 110 in a 25 , i cant image that ticket if i would of gotten caught.
Wow , thats enought I cant believe I rambled on that much.

Seeing the look on that kids face as he got pulled over would be the best. I have a n/t and I put one of those alum. wings on it. Since that day it seams like every kid in a honda has to rev. But whenever a cop sees me he follows me and ignores all the little honda's that rev. Sometimes I hate driving a car that everyone has to check out,.......Nah, I love it

just as there are good drivers there are bad drivers. there are great cops then there are the i've worked the graveyard shift for 12 years, been passed over for propmotion 5 times, my children wife and dog left me pricks also.
which reminds me of my senior year of high school. 1 4dr oldsmobile with manual sunroof, 8 guys seating for 6 and 1 pound of pot. after 2 ounces we decided it would be easier for people to take turns riding on the roof hanging onto the car by the opening to the sunroof. 2 more ounces later and speeding down a dirt road at 50mph. we park to smoke some more. cop pulls up doesn't say anything sees us smoking out of a huge 4' bong. cop starts to talk to us, bong flys 60' into the woods. atleast 40 1/4 ounce baggies of pot strewn accross the seats. cop walks up sees all the baggies and says "theres been a complaint about a car driving around with 2 people on the roof, have you seen this car?" everyone says no. then he says "well whoever that person is if they are seen doing it again they are going to get tickets x, y, and z and will probably have their car impounded, searched and spend a night in jail + court"
then he asks us to leave and leaves himself. thats was the most awesome and scariest thing i have been involved in, except maybe the cop helping us roll a blazer out of a ditch. we were 16 neither of us had a license or were injured so he said this doesn't need a police report.
then theres geting caught going 8X in a 35, cop wrote me up for 20 over so he wouldn't have to take a teenager to jail.
just pull over imediately, be curteous and cops WILL NOT give you a problem, its when you seem to be a stuck up little bastard they start writing up every ticket they can find, search your vehicle, sobreity test, asking rediculous questions like you have a weapon a gun, drugs, stolen property, etc.
