Yea, I could use the option of picking multiple items. I am doing my engine, head, turbo, suspension, ACT 2100 clutch (this is my 90' fwd tsi), and tranny.

My 90 awd tsi - engine, head, 93 tranny, 93 t-case, 93 4 bolt rear end, then cutting weight out of the car and roll cage welding.

You definitely forgot to put adding a front mount intercooler on there. I suppose it would sort of fall under intake but in that respect so would a new turbo.

I put exhaust but I definitely would have put FMIC if it was there.

Once I get back from interning in los angeles, and have a career in effect- that engine will be ripped out and sent to FFWD or some other specialist for a full engine overhaul. I'm hoping to end up with one of FFWD's stroker motors. Once I have that done- I'll have a brand new motor and a more reliable daily driver so I can look for a new project car.

Wow, That was a long time ago, guess i should update :rolleyes: . ended up being the disc that took a dump, pressure plate to my suprise along with the Flywheel were fine. stayed standard, figure i can live with traction problems, i really love my car with full weight and tall gears. Bought an FP3065, has 272's on a built head , have my water to air intercooler, with that setup ran a 12.4 @113, . New plans call for stroker with internals that can take higher rpms. Run some numbers with that full setup, then pull the drivetrain out and put it in something lighter. The laser will go back to a mild mid 12 second 18g based setup for getting groceries. the lighter car with the evil setup will be employed as a hitman.

Can you elaborate a little more on the 3065, im interested in getting one but I would like to see mid 11s with it. I guess im looking to see what mods you had on the car. On another note I ran a shittyforce on my 96 WWD well I broke it in put about 800 miles on the car before I even boosted it and I only boosted it on the way to the track before I ran it. I had the flywheel setup properly and everything.

I had a respectable DSM shop work the flywheel for me and everything so I knew it would be right, well the clutch lasted the launch and slipped in second, third and 4th I never made it past 60 MPH all the way down the track, I let it cool off for like an hour and limped it home 70 miles boosting it on the way home was like trying to drive on ice. I got no where. I swapped it out and replaced the flywheel 3 days later and launched for the first time on the new clutch masters clutch and blew the diff through the side of the case, well I got lucky there and the car was still under 3 year 36. I parked it at the dealer and the regional came to look at it, he tells me that they are having trouble keeping the small GST and N/T rotors from warping, and if I could get him a stillen catalog where he could get some cross drilled rotors for these customers, he would fix my tranny. :eek:

Ok at this time my jaw dropped and I went down the street to a mod shop and scraped up every catalog they had on rotors went back 20 minutes later and gave him all the info that I had. I even told him a shop that had them close to the dealer where the other cars were having the brake problem in New Jersey. 3 days later I rolled out of the dealer with a brand new tranny, with my old tranny in the trunk :) I couldnt be happier.

Morale of the story is not all dealerships are the devil :D

On the subject of the FP3065...

Think of it as a bolt on GT35R turbo, with a smaller turbine wheel. It's great for no nitrous street cars, and the transient response (i.e. off gas, on gas - shifting) is insane. For those that have driven 16G cars the turbo will feel very similar, it just has about an extra 1,000rpm of boost threshold.

A well setup DSM will make ~500whp at 24-25psi on the 3065. This is assuming you have the following;

Adequate fuel system
Adequate intercooler / piping / intake manny (Magnus)
Engine management (AEM or similar)
Complete 3" Exhaust

If you turn the boost up a 3065 is capable of an easy 550whp, and I've heard of a few 575whp cars with the boost really cranked. I don't know why anyone would want anything else, unless you're primarily a drag racer and the car sees very little street. The 3065 is a 9 second turbo on a light car, or a solid 10 second turbo on a well setup street weight car.

In that case check out the FP3575.

As far as the exact specs, and what other turbo's equal it, i'm not sure, if i had to guess, i'd say a gt30 turbine wheel with a gt35 0r 40 compressor wheel. What I do know is that whatever it is, it is a PERFECT match for a 2.0 any bigger turbo and you'll be falling out of boost between shifts like those mid 12 second 120+ MPH awd cars do.

forged 8:1 pistons, stock crank and rods.
P&P head, stock valves, crower springs and retainers, HKS 272's
P&P stock intake & exhaust manifold,
stock non-eprom ECU, MAFT, 780cc injectors.
26 by 10 1/2 slicks (way too tall, but couldnt afford the $1000 dollar bogart wheel 24 1/2 tall slick combo)

I hadnt even begun to tap into its potential, when i started running into clutch problems. so this turbo has alot more in it. Mid 11's will not be a problem at all, From the GT35 and bigger cars i've seen run, they are making the power up top but spool up just a little too late to take advantage of the 4g63's torque which is what saves you every time you shift. so with any bigger turbo your horsepower to ET ratio will become worse due to the lack of torque in the powerband. As you can tell by my mods, i am slowly building up my rpm mods (still need rods and valves, recently aquired a TMO ECU with a high redline) and am planning on stroking so that I can have more of a safety buffer in case i screw up and shift too slow. Take a real close look at the torque in the 3065 dyno sheet on FP's website. Notice how it doesnt last very long, but is still there for when you need it. now compare it to a GT35 and you'll notice the big torque is gone.

I got suspension work on mine.Got some sprint springs i gotta slap on my tsi,so i can put my dsm stockers springs/gr-2's combo on my gvr4,at the same time doing the cv axles on the gvr4.when tax money comes I'll put some agx's on the talon and finish my oem big brake upgrade.some tires, a strut bar and she's ready for HPDE I plan to attend this year. That will probably be all the mods i get this year,Next year I'll work on fuel and the year after that,I'll finally install a 16g on there and call it a day.

I can't decide. I've been looking at the jic flt-a2's so that once I get 17x8s and (more importantly) some new rubbers, the traction will never end (around corners that is), but then I also am experiencing advanced ignition knock, 20psi, 46psi base fuel pressure, and 450cc injectors with only a maft to tune will do that to yah, so I really want to get dsmlink+some injectors, then I also have had thoughts about aem ems, as well as getting some 17x8's and new rubber first.

It doesn't end there, If I do get dsmlink, I don't know which injectors to go with. I only have a 14b, but after I finish the fuel system (dual pumps, 8 an- lines, fpr, fuel filter, injectors everything except the fuel rail) and the exhaust, I will be going to at least a 60-1. maybe, (probably) a gt35r, which I know can't max out 1600cc injectors, but once I build the head and start reving into the 9k's some 950's would be cutting it close, and also, 1600's are cheaper. So not only do I not know what to get, I don't know if I go with one thing, what to get with it. (I think right now either the flt-a2's or link is in the lead. pm me to help me decide please)
