Moving Turn Signals

Yesterday I saw a mustang where his turn signals flashed so they looked like they were moving. You know how the new mustangs have 3 sections of each tail light [][][].
First the left one would light up, then the middle, then the right one. Then they would all turn off, and it would start again. It looked pretty sick. But I was figuring there must be a way to do this with a 2G because we have two brake lights. (im using altezza tails as well) Anyone know how this can be done?

If you do it using only 2 lights it won't look like it is moving but will just look like alternating brake lights.

actaully don't we have 3 if you include the one you can hardly see to the corner(on teh side)
i guess this could be done with 3g altezza's(the ones that say "sport")

Well if there is a relay or something that does it, you could probably cut that third lights wire and splice it in. I just removed that corner light because it looks dumb. Anyway these lights on the mustang looked really phat.

Im working on it. I had the effect of the middle 2 alternating, but the 3rd light is a bitch to get to follow order! It blinks and all, but it has a mind of its own. Looks really cool when it does work with my LEDS (they also make it blink faster, which I hated at first, but it looks better when all 3 are turning. ill let you know if I finally get it perfect...

GSX101, what did you do to attempt to get that effect? Good job on the link BTW so everyone can see what I mean. I was thinking of putting a red bulb in that third spot. After that, cutting the ground wire to the innermost bulb, which makes the first two flash alternate. After that maybe you could somehow splice the wires for the third bulb into the second bulbs wires. Even if you could just get all three to alternate it would be hot.

All I did was cut the ground to the middle bulb. That makes the two centermost bulbs in each taillight alternate when the headlights are on and turn signal is activated. When headlights are off and turn signal is activated you just get hyperblink without any alternating.

Yes, but hit your brakes and see what happens...NO BRAKELIGHTS!!!! I had that too, i reran the grounding wire from the innermost light to the main ground wire (that goes to the main white thing) And it fixed it.

If anyone gets all (3) blinking like the mustang ones please post a simple faq on how you did it. I would love to do that, but when it comes to electrical I am about as inclined as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Yeah one of you guys who is electrical minded should figure out how. I mean, it has to be POSSIBLE and CHEAP. I don't know much about electrical stuff but you would think some kind of relay and a little wiring is all you would need.

Hi, I am Scott in the above post. I have done this on one Eclipse, a girl here in Austin. It looked great! It is same kit that we sell for the Impala SS/Caprice/Firebird/Grand National etc.

All you have to do is put our circuit in line with your middle light and add a third light to the outside. It will not work on the ones with seperate Brake/Turn signals (red/orange).

I wonder if there's anyway to light up that middle part on the 3G Altezza's? I have them, the ones that say "Sports" in the middle piece, and it'd be wicked if the middle piece would light up at night. Hit me if you know of anyway to do it.
