SanDiego area Carlsbad Dragway Saturdays

Listen up SanDiego, in addition to going to the Qualcomm this friday, the 27th we are also going to Carlsbad dragway on saturday afternoon.

Apperently they have open "grudge racing" every saturday from 2:00 until about 6:00.
Gates open at 1:00.

So far I am going for sure and awdmike858 *might* be going for This saturday, the 28th.

If anyone else is interested or would like to come with, please post here so we can get organized. There will certainly be future trips there as well.

Cost, if i heard correctly, is $10 each person plus $12 to race. In other words it will cost you $22 to race.

I think the gates open at 12:00pm but I'm thinking of going at 11:00am to get in at 12:00, last year I made an hour line, that sucked. I'd like to get there early take pics and look at the girls and cars and leave.

my friend is supposed to be back home tomorrow night, he has a red 92 awd laser. almost stock but i'll drag him out anyway if all goes well. hope we dont get rain.....
woohoo, got my afc today. so now i can run my 660cc with stock pump, lol. still waiting to get registration and insurance. car WILL be on the road by next week.

by the way, this guy ran his AT thunderbird 3 weeks ago at carlsbad. ran a 15.3. he is putting headers on it this week so now he wants to bet money....

i have a 93 gsx. maybe your thinkng of Mike, who has a 95 gsx.

anyways, if you look at my car it "looks" like all it has is just a k&n and mbc.

Stock exhaust, stock ic and piping.

But i blew my engine (timing belt) and decided to go all out. I have a stage three buschur block and head, rebuilt tranny, TRE ported 14b, new and rewired fuelpump and a boosted modded mas.

All that engine and port work is completly going to waste right now!!!

once i get an exhaust, intake, and I/C pipes i should be running healthy 12's.

Once my new job starts paying what it should, it wont take long :)

Anyways, we will be meeting at fry's before hand. I'll go post that in the qualcomm thread.

Well IMHO, that was f-l-o-p. LOL I dying of laughter because Carlsbad was so lame. It was an autocross getting through the 1/2 mile dirt road, and the track was crap too. We'll give it one more chance. 3 runs for 22 bucks sucked anyways, it was full of domestics dialing in for sunday's big event. We waited for 2 hours before we raced once... needless to say this sucked bigtime.

Sorry I left early but I had to pick up my oldest brother from the airport at 7:15pm, so I left about the second time you guys raced. I overheated my talon at the airport, believe that shhhhhhhh, I lost a lot of water and coolant but it was cold enough to drive to the nearest store and buy coolant. The car is fine now, other than a scary sight of steam coming out of the hood. I freaked at the sight!!!
Trip on this....I tangled with this tricked out prelude leaving Carlsbad.......He was with his girl...Too bad for this guy because I had to step on the brakes for him to catch up to me....the bastard then took off ahead of me, didn't wait for me to get on some boost and hid in traffic. That is where I backed out........Talon 1- Prelude 0. Damn I love this car! Check you guys later.

You see I disconnected both fans to the radiator since it makes a loud noise when they are on. Big mistake if you run your car hard and stay in one spot for some time, like the parking toll at the airport. All I did was connect the fans and add water and coolant, tested the car today and nothing was wrong with it, everything was back to normal. So who won the deciding race? I only saw two...Damn did you see the typhoon run, he ran a high 10 and then a flat 11 wow, I was impressed....Check you guys later....So when you guys hooking up again?

I don't remember who won the third race, but neither of us made 13's. Besides I remember bogging the last two runs pretty badly. So those last two didn't count anyways:)
