Is the power steering pump ok? maybe the pump is dragging (or frozen) and is tearing up your belts?

I had the same problem with my GS.

I had to replace the pulley and the bracket. The new pulley from mitsu had a bigger diameter and a wider belt surface. Works fine now.

Also, check to see if your crank pulley is out of round. Start the car and see if it wobbles at all, that can cause a belt tossing problem.

Make sure everything lines up.
The power steering pump has a slid adjustment itself, make sure that it is not cocked in either direction.

I had this same problem. I would replace the belt on average of 1 time a week and shortly afterwards, I would see it starting to shred. I didn't know what was causing this problem for almost 3 weeks. Turned out to be the pulley being on backwards. Flipped it around and havn't had any problems yet.

if the pully was wobbling that is a symptom of a failure of the device the pully is attached to. IE your water pump, your PS pump, whatever. Replace the pump and i bet your problems will be over.
