Getting a 91 TSI AWD up and running. This car has been sitting for about 5 years. Got the shifter cables hooked up to the tranny, it will go into all 5 gears, but it is a little tough to move in the middle... well how do I explain, you know when you pull it out of first and it's supposed to return to center? It seems like it is pretty stiff... what needs to get adjusted in order to make the shifter move a little more smoothly? Is it the cables? On the tranny or the shifter itself?
Thanks

I guess it could be the shifter... It's just having a hard time returning to center after you pop it out of 2nd, or 5th for that matter. Anything that I could check on the cables on the tranny?

Mine does this too, I haven't looked too hard, but it appears to be a shifter lever on the tranny itself that's stiff. It's the L shaped bracket if I'm remembering it correctly (essentially, it's what your shifter cables hook into on the tranny)
