I just ordered a brand new tranny, I was wondering if there is any 'break-in period' to do, like a motor...

Just change the fluid at 100 miles of use. That's all that should really be needed. There isn't any bearings to worry about "spinning" as you would with a motor, or rings to seal.

I think 100 miles might be a bit soon. I mean you can change it then but you will want to change it again around 1500 ish too.

TRE told me to change mine once it was really golden colored (dust from the syncro's) which was around 1500 miles. I drained it and refilled it with Redline MT-90 and I'm around 3500 miles now. Going to check it again my next engine oil change.

When I had my tranny built by TRE, he said to take it easy, shift it gently, and don't beat on the trans for the first 500 miles.

Yes they did say that about mine too.

be nice for 500 miles, change fluid at 1500. gentle shifts and no high rev shifts should do the trick.
