i have an auto 2.0 (93) laser and the tranny is going for the 2nd time. was wondering if anyone has done a 5sp swap, or if anyone knew how diffucult it was. figuring on buying a used tranny and all the parts from people parting cars out, and what stuff i would need? any info is good

I started the auto to manuel swap on a 93 talon, never completed it though. didnt seam to be that hard if you have all the parts. I did everything to the car but install the trans and engine. I installed the cables an pedals and cut out the hole in the fire wall witch is marked were the cut an drill. You need the trans,pedals,ecu,cables,shifter,clutch master an slave, and I went ahead and swaped the stearing colum out also, its not a must but didnt have to mess with the shift lock thingy. thats al the info i have off hand, theres a how to out there somewhere.

Im finishing one up as we speak, not to difficult just a pain working all the bugs out! Mine is awd so a fwd would be 1/4 the work.

I just finished one, put in tranny from a 92, had to get a 7 bolt flywheel.

THere are some electrical issues, but mechanically its easy.
