I just purchased a set of Apexi? lowering springs for my 91 AWD. I have never done springs before and do not know what else I need, new struts, anything, please help. Thanks.

Well, lowering springs usually require stiffer shocks too. If you use the stock shocks they will wear out fast, from what I've seen. And if you still have the stock shocks on your 91, they're probably pretty worn out already. Most any aftermarket shock replacement will work with your springs.
You'll also need an alignment after putting the springs in. Are you gonna do the install yourself?

I probably will not do it myself, I did the engine, but have never done any work on the suspension myself, anyone know how much the install will cost?
How much are you lowering it? You may need some additional camber adjustment. I plan on dropping 1" with the Eibach Pro-kit springs. I posed this question on a post recently and I guess we might get away not needing these with only a 1" drop. I hear the KYB/AGX adjustable struts are great for our cars. I'm planning on using these. They run about $400 a set. I've also heard that the rear springs rust in place and are a b**ch to get out. If you do it yourself you WILL ABSOLUTELY NEED a spring compressor.

Van, SCC's Project Eclipse they used the Pro-Kit springs and still had problems with alignment. They lower the car 1.3" according to Eibach. I have these springs and a set of AGXs, I just haven't put them on the car yet. I will be doing this before winter, I'll let you all know how it goes! A friend of mine has a '95 TSi AWD with just the springs, stock shocks, way too underdamped if you ask me. He has just replaced tires (no camber kit, yet) and is looking to get a camber kit for the fronts soon. You can do your rear camber with some longer than stock bolts and spacer washers. More washers = less negative camber. I have heard that -1.5 degrees is the way to go for aggressive street setup with no uneven wear.

I installed a set of Intrax Springs on new stock stuts 3 months ago and when I went to take it apart to transfer cars, the Struts were dead. I took it apart and teh piston in teh strut went right down really fast. I would not recommend teh stock struts. I am looking into a set of agxs for it.
