Quick question,

I recently got the car and found that I don't have to press the clutch or brakes to start the car.

That probably means the person before me us had an alarm system.

Or is it like that from the factory for these cars?

sounds like somebody had remote start on the car. If it's highly modded or has a very heavy clutch some guys do that so that they don't put pressure on the thrust bearing when starting the car cold and dry.

... or maybe you have the TMO stage III chip with the no-lift-to-shift option. If you don't have the "special" clutch switch wire (like me), you can start the car without pressing the clutch.

I wish it was chipped!

Really...

Does it have a tendency to Crankwalk when you start it up?

Your clutch safety switch is probably unpluged. I unplugged mine. Look under the dash and on the clutch pedal. It should be white.

In case you can't find it. Heres a link of guy who made a vid on how to unplug it. clutch safety switch (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101587)

Good call, I think that's what it is. I checked it before I SAW THE vid and it looks familiar. Thanks for the link, this should hopefully cut down on cost when I get my alarm/starter installed.

Many of us have pulled the clutch start switch to help reduce the wear on the thrust bearings on startup. At startup the engine has very little oil pressure so there is nothing from keeping the crank from contacting with the thrust bearings. Anti-crankwalk eh yea but really its a good idea for any stick vehicle as they will all suffer from low oil pressure at startup.
