I got my front strut tower bar and put it in lastnight. Funny thing though; I assumed that this bar went "between" the valve cover and the intake manifold, using the front bolts and middle bolts on the towers. Don't laugh yet! When installed there, it prevented the hood from closing. It uses the two-bolt type flange to hold it down. Also, the printing on the bar was readable in this location. Now, all three bolts on tower have same spacing... So, I removed the bar and remounted using the back and middle tower bolts. This places the bar "behind" the intake manifold and lower in the engine compartment. I disconnected the bar from each end and spun it 180 degrees and reconnected it so that the lettering was readable in this "new" position. Now, the hood closes. Was this bar assembled wrong at the factory? Has anybody else experienced this? Does it actually make a difference, as long as the towers are connected?
The handling difference on my car was almost phenomenal! Fantastic mod! So, I'm wondering WTF? It looks great, handles much better and my hood closes. This bar was only $40.

dont know about your bar, but mine is a buschur and i put mine in the back in the first place. i just figured it would be out of the way back there. My handling too is better and i doubt it would make much differance how it was mounted.

I have the Freedom Designs strut tower brace on my car. I didn't have any problems with it AFTER I put in on the right way. My Car is a 2G so my bar is a little different. My mounts are circular 3 bolt. I installed mine backwards at first. My bar is a one way bar in that it has a bend on one side.
To see a picture of my bar go to the Handling Guru post below...

Anybody have experience with Reactive brand stuff? I want performance, dont give a shit what it looks like. Mach V is also selling some "generic asian" imported front braces for 60 on sale. Dont know anything about these either. Anybody used either of these?

If dirt cheap is the goal, speedpeople.com is selling zero1racing bars for $30. I just bought one, but have yet to bolt it on. Typical adjustable bar. It might snap in half at the first pot hole for all I know, but for $30, I figured worth a shot :)

Ractive bars are the biggest peices of shit i have ever used. I bought 2 of them(one was a "buschur racing" brace) And I have since removed both, they are pathetic

Now thats unbiased reporting. I guess they only make little Honda dress up items too. Thanks, I'll get some from Road Race of Mach V. Sorry to hear BR is so willing to ship crap with their name on it though. Still trying to decide on my next add on. All I have on my 1G right now is AGX's and tires, the handling is still lacking to say the least. These seem like good bang for the buck.

With a little effort and some tools you can build one. Mine is two pieces of 1 1 /2" angle iron and 3/4" thick wall conduit that I mashed togeather and welded up.

You know whats a good cheap bar for a 1G. I had a Konig V-racing bar. It was kinda oval-ish. Really strong for the $40 i spent
