I just finished a grueling clutch swap on my 96 TSi. Let me just go on record and say that I will NEVER do that again!!! PITA!!! I had to remove the entire front suspension. Somehow I got it all back together. Now, I don't know if I spun the tie rod on accident or what, but when I put the car back on the ground my camber was waaaay negative and my toe seems to be off. The guy I bought the car from said he had done the cheap Pep Boys 7$ nuts and bolt mod that corrected the camber. I don't recall removing anything like this. I suspect my shocks have finally crapped out. The car is noticeably harder to control and bounces A LOT. Is this indicative that they are going out? My front wheels are just about tucked into the fender. Looks cool but not at all what I want for street driving. Also, when I went for a test drive, the car pulls to the right a lot! The steering wheel has to be turned a good 2-3 inches offcenter to keep the car straight. I can also feel the resistance in the wheel wanting to pull. It would be different if the steering wheel was offcenter but when you let it go the car still goes straight. In my case, if I let the wheel go the car wants to pull hard to the right. My car is too low to go on a lift. How can I adjust it myself? Do I need special tools? Can I eyeball it? Are my shocks gone? I'm using H&R race springs, KYB GR-2 shocks on 17" rims w/ 215/45 z17 nittos.
