Sup guys,
Im looking into putting some lowering springs onto my 90 GS-T. Right now, im planning on keeping the stock shocks, and just getting ~1" drop springs. The Suspension Technique ones are #1 on my list because of price. Can someone tell me about how much wheel gap im going to have after putting on the drop springs? What other brands are good, other than Eibach. H&R? Sprint? Progress?
Any help and pictures are appreciated.
Late,
Al

I installed some Suspension Techniques springs on my Talon non-turbo I had a few years ago. They seemed to lower it more than an inch. I had maybe an inch of gap between the tires (205/55R16) and the fender on the front and 3/4th's of an inch gap on the rear. They seemed to lower the back a little too much as there was less gap on the rear than the front. The spring rates are also a little higher than the Eibach Pro-Kits. I would defiantly recommend some good struts. A new set of KYB GR-2's as a bare minimum for a street car. Adjustables would be advisable.

H&R's are what my friend has, forgot the exact model. It dropped it about 1 1/2 inches and is a very nice ride.

EIbach Sportlines with KYB Gr-2's up front and AGX's in the rear. It's a stiff ride and i would say lowered the car a good 1.75 inces(1991 FWD Laser). It gives it a good stance and look but you really have to slow down for bigger bumps in the road and such. I'll look to see if I can find any pictures or not.

Dont do it have ass. The lowering spring arnt going to make it handle much better. Its the shocks that do alot of the work. Just buy a spring and shock combo and call it good. Then save up some more money and get a camber kit.

If you do it, do it right. Go with a set of shocks and springs. Ive heard that the stock shocks wont last as long with lowering springs? I have KYB GR-2's all around with Eibach sportlines, dropped it about 2 inches looks good, still have good clearance and handles better.

I would say just hold off, save up alittle bit more money and do it right the first time. Just buying spring would be doing it half ass.

Hey guys. When I first bought my 1g back in 2000 w/ 100K miles I had my mechanic install a new factory struts with the stock springs still in place. I now have 176K on the car (so 76K on the struts) and want to install springs to give my ride a less "bouncy" ride. I don't want to go very low (maybe about 1" drop) since I drive this car a lot in the winter. Do you think this would be advisable and would work good with my stock struts? TBH, Chris

You need better shocks to get rid of the bounce.
P.S. Did anybody else notice this post was started back in 2000, then started back up in 07?
