ok I've been reading on RRE's website for almost 6 years now, but I finalyl got the chance to do business with them.

While SBR handled my 6 bolt block order, i called up RRE for a couple of things I had been wanting for a LONG time. Of course you call RRE nd you know you are going to get a call back... but I actually got that call back the same after noon and the gentleman was professional and polite.

I ordered the Fidanza Fly wheel, and ACT 2600, and the gentleman confirmed 3 times that it was for a 6 bolt and I was doing the swap, just to make sure he knew exactly what I was doing and what I used my car for. he also advised that the 2600 mightbe overkill for my mostly stock car and I might prefer the 2100. I told him I used to cycle and drive 5 spd fullsize puickups, no way would it be too heavy for me.

I ordered the FIPK, and Greddy hard pipes and was discussing motor mounts, he advised the 2 inserts for a daily driver, and i asked which ones he ran. "All four but it does vibrate a good bit". No problem I used to have an MGB with solid motormounts... I'll take the full set. Again he double checked that I was certain that I wanted the full set. I also ordered the RRE DP and CAT, and he advised that it was set up for Apex'i cat backs and did I have one... (i do, an oldschool dunk 115)

I ordered the RRE cas plug and play harness, adn asked if they happened to have any of the CAS or the OEM oil filter mounts... He said he would ahve to loojk aroundf and call me back the next day. Guess what? he did, and right about the time he said he would too. They could get ome one new but the price would be ridiculous, and he was right. So I completed my order (a few more odds and ends) and he reminded me ofthe delay for first time buyers while the CC gets verified and gave me the normal time and my estimated time being a first time customer

ORder arrived A day Early, well packed... I was only disappointed in that the welds were not as nice as I had hoped on hte DP, ie not ground down and not looking quite like the perfect pile of nickels. I also had one pinhole in the o2 flange weld but it actually serves as a condensation drain so I don't care to badly. I was disappointed that teh "block mount" like the OEM one is apparently Extra now as it was not included with my DP.

other than that RRE are people I want to do business with again, the people are great, they know their stuff and are happy to ask Mike and call back if they can't answer a question instead of BS'ing. Some people have said that unless you are big turbo you get treated like a second class citizen but I did not find this to be the case at all even on my near stock t25 powered DD, maybe because I knew what I wanted, why I wanted it, and was willing to discuss and get feedback on my goals and plans, instead of asking dumb questions like how many tenths a DP is worth or how many HP i would get from a filter.
The prices are reasonable to begin with and when buying over 1k worth of stuff at once I was offered a nice discount. If I remember correctly I even got a call the a couple of days AFTER the parts were supposed to arrive (I got them early) to make sure things had arrived and make sure I was happy with everything.

I think I will be getting the 2 strut tower braces and the a arm brace from them later down the road and I am sure there will be other things (like that zietronix WB EGT BOOST all in one display!).
Best customer service I have ever experienced Anywhere at any time.

I'll have to third this.

RRE is top notch. I've placed several orders with them, referred friends to them who ordered and they've never messed up an order of mine. Everything the first time, on time with no excuses. Even overnight in one case.

Road Race Engineering (http://www.roadraceengineering.com/) is a DSM vendor that is a class act, support them.

been doing business with them for years, great vendor. one thing they need to improve on though is packaging. invest in some heavy duty tape, packing peanuts & heavier gauge boxes. & tape the hell out of their shipments.

I emailed an order to RRE and received it much faster than expected. And I don't think I even need to remark about the quality and prices of their products! Will be ordering from again!

I ordered a 16g hacker/tweaker install kit and turbo bolts. The only complaint I have is that the J-pipe did not fit without a LOT of dremel work on the fan shroud. Kind of annoying. Other than that, great service.

did you read where RRE says your gonna have to trim the shroud a little?

I've ordered a bunch of little stuff from RRE. The one and only time something was wrong with my order was when I ordered a 2g SS clutch line, and received the 1g line instead. I emailed them, got a response directly from Mike (on a Sunday, no less), telling me he'd make it right (either by sending me the right part, or by giving me a store credit if I wanted to just use the line I received; I ended up just using it). Great customer service all-around, and their repeat-customer discount was a very nice surprise the first time I saw that.

heh.. im lucky, i live about 55 min away from them.

oh and about the packing peanuts, they have one of those HUGE peanut dispensers that i have NEVER seen empty. Strange why you didn't recieve any.

they are also very good with the "do it yourself" parts. I buy flanges/gaskets from them ALL THE TIME. My buddies and i fab all of our own shit from exhaust to IC piping and RRE has a great discount program on flanges and stuff like that.

I just received my UICP from them yesterday. It was $95 + $15 shipping. It took a week to arrive which seemed a little long when I was paying $15 for shipping. No big deal, the part looks great, other than the fact that it looks like UPS played hockey with my box. No major damage, just a small bend at the end right near the beaded section. I just took a pair of pliers to it and it's good as new :D . Damn UPS guys

I did notice when I got my invoice that it said:

UICP $95
Transfer to invoice $7
Shipping $8

Anyone else see that "transfer to invoice" charge?

Anyway, it looks like a very high quality part, complete with a BOV gasket and bolts. I'll be installing it tonight and let you guys know about the fitment tomorrow.

interesting. I do know that RRE hand writes every order onto a carbon copy invoice....even on walk-ins. mabye they're starting to charge for that now....
