Here's an interesting one:

I have a 1995 Talon TSi AWD. The build date indicated is April '94. The door placard indicates the stock tire size to be 215/55R16. A friend also has a '95 TSi AWD. The build date on his is in May...a month after mine. The stock tire size indicated on his car is 205/55R16. Was their a tire size change during mid-production of the '95's? The 1G's all had 205/55's. I have an early build so did they switch to 215/55's when production first started on the 2G then switch back? The only other reason I can see as to the tire size difference is the absence of a rear LSD on my car (he has one). He also has an automatic (I have a 5-speed). Anyone want to post their stock tire size indicated on the door placard along with:

- Build date?
- Equipped with a rear LSD (should be orange sticker in drivers door jamb)?
- Automatic or 5-speed?

Strangly, we both have the same sized spare tire. (125/90R16). Maybe the center diff isn't *quite* as sensitive to damage from differing tire diameters as largely believed.

If anyone is interested, I found out the difference. The cars equipped with automatic transmissions got 205/55R16's. The 5-speeds got the 215/55R16's. I suppose they went with a slightly smaller tire diameter to help with takeoff on the automatic equipped cars...I guess Mitsubishi figured they needed all the help they could get. :P
