I've already posted this to the autox group on onelist so you may have already read it… I'm just looking for more responses/ideas/info on the subject.

-----------------------

Recently I purchased RM swaybars for my 2GST and have installed the rear bar. I waited on installing the front bar because I've heard that it will increase understeer from where the car was stock and that by only installing the rear bar it will balance the car out more effectively. Anyone out there know if there is any truth to this or will installing the front bar be the better way to go?

Matt.

I would say that if you don't feel the car oversteers too much with just the rear bar, leave it. Making the front anti-roll bar stiffer than the stock one will only INCREASE understeer. Have you tried removing the front sway bar? The only positive to adding the stiffer front sway bar would be to maintain the suspension travel. Front suspension travel is in short supply with our cars, so this is a good thing. Put the bar on and if you don't like the way it drives with it, put the stock one back on. My $.02 :D

I installed my front one and am happy with it. It's been a year and a half since I did install it so I can't totally remember what stock felt like. What I do know is the steering is less "sloppy" now with the front & rear bars installed.

Does anyone know if you can use swaybars with exhaust systems that go under the rear suspension on 95+ GST's....like thermal R&D or Apexi's exhaust systems?

The RM rear sway bar will work with a Thermal exhaust. I know for a fact that the Suspension Technique bar will NOT work with the Thermal.
