i have a 98GST and right now i am probably pumping around 27-290 hp but my car's suspension is stock. I want to drop it about a 1 1/2in all around for traction purposes(i want to drive it in the street with the drop not just at the track.) i dont want it for looks but just for the traction. I also dont want to go to low to the ground. And finally do front-struts help out the car with tracion?

If you want better traction lowering springs alone wont help much. They'll help your confidence more than anything because of the less pronounced body roll (under normal to moderate driving. It'll still roll severly driven hard). You'd be better off getting adjustable struts and forget about the springs if looks aren't your motive. KYB AGX stuts can be had for $366 shipped at www.summitracing (http://www.summitracing) .com . More than springs but labor will be identicle. They are 4 way adjustable front and 8 way adjustable rear. Adjustablt struts will help more than springs however traction is really dependent upon tires more than anything else. I'd try a better tire first (Brigdestone RE71 and Dunlop SP8000 personal favorites), struts second and then springs. If your using any tire that came with DSMs or anything simular you cant expect good traction. They all suck.

If your talking about straight line traction definately get the struts over springs (front and rear struts). set the rears at full hard and fronts at soft. Motormounts also help launching smoothly. Stock tires probably arent that bad for straight line traction.
