I have Eibach Pro-kit with Koni shocks on
my 2G GST. I've experienced extreme tire wear on the inside of the front tires. Has anyone had such experience with Eibach Pro-kit?

It's interesting because I can clearly notice a bit of camber on the rear but the wear happened on the front tires.

After reading RRE page, it says to always align the wheels after lowering the car. So I took the car to Pepboys yesterday. The guy started complaining saying because the car had been lowered, he'd not be able to align the wheels properly. I told him to go ahead and do whatever he could. Have you had problems getting the wheels aligned with a lowered car (and after market rims)?

First off, I dont know about your Pep boys, but the one where I live, SUCKS. They cant do nuttin right. I lowered my car with the Sprint springs(2 1/2" drop), and I didnt have any tire wear yet. Even when I look at my car, the camber looks fine. Dont ask me how. I evewn have aftermarkek wheels on it(17's). I dont know if this helps at all, but I tried.

I went to my Mitsu dealership today and asked them if there would be any difficulties aligning my 99 GSX if it were lowered. He said there wouldn't be, but informed me it would void my suspension warranty. I've found out in the last 5 years if I want something done right, go to my local dealership. I understand that may not be the case for everyone :)

I put on the Eibach Pro-kits along with the KYB AGX's on my '99 GSX about 10K miles ago. I also have 18in wheels. I also did notice excessive tire wear on the inside front tires. I actually did have an alignment done right after I put the springs on. One thing that pissed me off was that I first took my car to get the alignment done at my local Mitsu dealer... well, after about an hour of fidgeting and setting everything up, they came back and told me that they cannot do it because my car is lowered. I was like ok, that's fine gimme my car back... but they were like but you still owe us for 1hr worth of labor!! So I had to pay them $50 for doing jack to my car!! Anyway, I took it to this other place and they did it for me. The machine said that my camber on the fronts were -1.0 or something like that. So I'm thinking maybe the wear is due to the camber? I'm thinking about getting a camber kit now, but then RRE's website said that it could be due to excessive toe in? Any suggestions on this? Later,

Wear on the "inside" of the front tires is a for-sure sign of either toe-out (not good) or excessive negative camber (not good) and usually due to lowering. I thought all 2gen's needed camber kits up front when lowering, and on 1gen's, up front, if dropping over an inch.
BTW- your car would not drive smoothly if you had much toe-out. It would literally vibrate down the road. Noticeable!

-1 degree of front camber isn't going to cause extreme wear on the front tires. More than likely you have toe out which wears tires at a much faster rate than neg camber. Rear tires dont wear quickly even with -2.5 neg camber because they dont do any work. Srpint adverties 2" lowering which would require camber kits. Many shops complain of trouble aligning lowered cars. these shops are too dependent on there so called high tech machinery that cant measure on lowered cars but toe simply requires adjusting the tie rod ends. That can be done with a tape measure and a good eye for a person with experience. They may not be able to read camber but there's nothing they can do about it anyway aecept tell you what it is without a camber kit. With 1.3 ST springs I just got auto specialties +.75 front camber offset bushings, had the dealer adjust toe to zero and called it a day. I only added +.75 to the rear also and have no excessive wear. Make sure your tied rod ends are in good shape also (grab your front wheel and shake it back and fourth. If there's any play your tie rod ends are bad. NOPI sells them for about $20). If you get an alignment with bad tie rod ends your wasting your money.
