I know with upper front and rear strut bars, I can feel the difference in handling in my 2G. How about the lower strut bars. Are they good? Are they as easy to install as the upper bars?

How do strut tower braces and sway bars differ in function? that is, which will tighten handling and reduce body roll more...

I'm no engineer by any means but I'll give this a shot. Strut Tower Braces maintain the geometry of the suspension design by holding the shock towers in their correct position. Sway bars are used to determine the amount of weight transfer from one side of the car to the other. Of course there are lots of tradeoffs for that. There is ALOT more to this, but thats the general idea.

That's a pretty good idea of what they do. Strut tower bars and lower tie bars serve the same general purpose. They both improve the suspension geometry. They decrease body flex, allowing the suspension to do its job. Think of you suspension as being in the shape of an H. By adding strut tower bars and tie bars you are closing the top and bottom of the H making it a box and improving the rigidness.
The sway bar, or anti roll bar works by reducing body roll. As one side of the suspension is compressed by cornering weight, the sway bar is pushed up, which lifts the tire on the inside, helping the car to maintain a level attitude in cornering.
Ultimately all of this serves the same purpose. To increase responsiveness and turn in. As far as the lower tie bar goes, it should be just as easy to install as the strut tower bars. Hope this helps!!
