Im getting new tires for my fwd 93 dsm, i was think about putting Nitto drags in the front and 555 extreme in the back, or should i go with 555 all around? The reason im asking this cause i want to know how the tread wear on the drags are?

the drag radials last about 10,000 miles with normal driving. Of course, someone might see more miles or less miles on these tires.

the 555's on the other hand will last you very very very long time.

I started out with the Nitto drags on 17's and they were gone in less than a year. (I dont have actual mileage) Then I got the 555's in 18's and had them for 2 years with a little tread left before switching to Yokohama Paradas. I didnt like them in snow but at the track they were great!

So far they've been pretty good. The 555's had better cornering ability than the Paradas and the side walls seemed stiffer too. I feel more body roll now. I havent had the chance to try out the Paradas at the track yet so the verdict is still out on that. They look pretty good but honestly I would go back to the 555's if I had the chance.

What about Nitto NT-450's?
The price is right compared to 555's.
Anyone have 450's that wants to share info?

I have 235/45 17" Nitto 555's right now and if you read Nitto's web site you'll find they are designed to resist tread wear. So they should last a while. I however don't think they are sticky enough and will be getting SP8000's on my next go around or possibly some drag radials. As I would like to see some 1.5 60fts :D 1.680 is my best as of now on the 555's and I had a 1.702 on the stock goodyears 215/55's on 16's.

Just my .02

I used to run 215/55/16 nt 450's on the stock 16 in wheels and they seemed fine under normal driving but they break loose easy and squeal...=(

Ooops forgot the topic was 555's. I'm using the 555's right now (235/35/19) and they are great....i have mild mods....K/N,U/L IC pipe, Hks EVC IV (1.15 BAR), Greddy Exhaust, Greddy BOV----where i used to easily break loose through from a 4500 RPM launch and about 30 ft in 2ND with the nt450's, i can easily do the same launch (4500) with the 550s and have np hooking up all the way WOT... Makes eating stock Rustangs GT's easy...!!!!! Just my $0.02! GO with the 555's for 30K-45K tread life and less$$$$

we ran 555 drags on a galant VR4. We were able to spin them in 3rd gear!!! We switched to Toyo Proxie R1A and they only torque steer now. Better tires.
they also have much better cornering abliltiy with the extra ply in the side wall. They have a softer compound, but come full depth compaired to the 555 drags.
