TurboMitsu.. what shocks do you use with them (H&R)? or what combo would you reccomend for a 91 GsX? i just bought H&R springs and installed them with the stock shocks. i know i should of bought shocks and srpings at the same time but figured i can get away with it (1 year maybe) since the car only has 54k as of now. i just couldn't afford the shocks at the time and i wanted to lower the car because i was getting my new rims=).
let me know thanx..

SAL!!!! YOU BOUGHT H&R's!!! Boy. Did't Johns trany falling out of the car and a $4K bill show you that H&R are just to dam low for NY??
IMHO H&R suck to sort and more of a look then anything. Wat i am talking about above is a GVR-4 that HAD H&R's in it and B/C the car was SO low after the springs dropped down ( under 1 year and they sag BAD ) the jack won't fit under the car and B/C it is so low he was bottoming out, he did this till the point where the bellhousing cracked ripped out both trany mount bolts and cracked the T case. the T case landing and resting on the X member caused him to almost kill the diff and that also had to be replaced. Needless to say the trany had to get rebuilt, New bolts and Misc parts all over, New X member and so on. All B/C the car was lowered in NY, Now you see I say NY. I say this B/C NY roads just don't support 45 profile tires and really low cars. te roads are not smooth enough.
Now lets not move on to the reason why lowering a car you race is bad for it like the shock the rear axels take tring to lift that weight even higher then before. ( Remember it's lower but still has the stock throw of the shocks so it has to list the car MORE then it did stock before it moves foward ) this problem can only be fixed with STIFF lowering springs and they don't go that low. This is why the Pro Kit doesn't drop as much as Sportline. The names alone show the reason for the two. Sportline as in for a sport, "Ya your a good SPORT pal!" or PRO kit as is " Wow that thing moves out, is that a PRO import??"
H&R's are not the best IMHO but not bad but here in NY they are going to cost you money between paint, Bumpers and possable undercarrage damage. All in all now worth a "LOOK" if you ask me. I'll keep my car high and in front of most :D

Well, for me H&R's worked great! I've hanged springs because the Eibach Pro-Kit was to low for me and the ride was too bouncy :( I don't go for looks on my car, I want the performance and that's what I've got from H&R's with KYB AGX Shoks, they sit at the right height and handle great but they are also very stiff - not bouncy like Eibach were, don't get me wrong I'm not saying that Eibach springs are bad, I just like H&R's better :)
Albert I'm sorry for being so slow on the pic's, I'll send them out ASAP.
Thanx!

The best street touring spring for a 1G is H&R, but they should be used with Koni shocks. (best street touring shock for 1G)
If you are racing then go with the Coil over springs and KYB AGX shocks. If you run the KYB shocks with stock springs or H&R you will get a very stiff ride, the KYB AGX shocks are too stiff in the rear. (because they are so stiff in back they give that stiff ride)
The Konis ride incredibly nice expecialy with the H&R.
If you want a stock replacment type shock then get the KYB GR2. Do not use them with aftermarket springs as they will blow out fast.
2G cars should use Eibach pro springs and tokico shocks.

Is there a significant difference b/t the 1G rear KYB AGX and the 2G rear KYB AGX?

Have you guys heard anything about H&R on 2G's? I need springs and I was considering them...

I've got a set of H&R sport springs and tokico illumina shocks, along with ingalls camber kits for the front and rear. They are not installed yet, I will post something in the product reviews section when I have it together.

Damn it!! errr!!! LOL. what should i do now. i had them already and it was kind of too late to return, plus i forgot about that story you told me. they are the sports package anyway same sh%$!. i'm going to get rid of them anyway but not soon unless i can add new shocks to them if it may help. i did realized they do sagg, especially when they bounce off bumps. i'm not to crazy about them honestly. well let me get these mods done first and then do the springs after. errrrrr!!!!!!! ohh well...

I have H&R's on my 91 GS-T and I love them. Great ride without being too low.

IMHO they are a good choice.

I agree with Mike's statement on the rear AGXs being too agressive with H&Rs. With my rear AGXs set on 1... dips in the road at 50mph can get scary. Anyone do a somersault yet in a 1G =)
