DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GUY!!!!!!

I purchased a slowboy 34mm flapper housing form him. He clearly said that there are no problems with this housing. When i received it, it had a bolt and the alignment pin broken off in it. had a machine shop help me with getting the bolt out but still useless!

I was also communicating through PM's. I asked him if it was $160, so i could paypal right away, and he said yes. But after i paid him i saw in the post that he wanted $150. I wasn't worried about the $10, but now it just shows that this guy is a liar.

He paid me for having the bolt removed, but what am i supposed to do with a housing that can't be used that i paid $150?$160 for!!!!

i sent him a PM explaining my side...he read it but didn't answer. I've sent him another one and its been unread for over a week now.

Thats why i think its a good thing that you cant post without having 50 other posts... it will show the persons commitment to the community. Thats one thing everyone is always scetchy about, i hope you atleast you figured something out with the housing... maybe a new tap or something..

Yeah, I really hate that kind of shit. I wish DSM Talk had some kind of logging system where if someone did rip someone off again, a refund could be issued and such (like Paypal's universal system). I'm not comparing the two, but saying that it seems that you can get ripped off so easily on forums like this. First off, you send the money and then they send the part? What if they just log off and never come back on? Then you just sent him the money for a random reason, he could just say that you donated money to his fund or something.

Correct me if I'm wrong, since I've never bought parts on here. That's why I don't think I'd go for anything on this site over $100 if I can't see it first in person. I trust that the majority of the guys on this site are truthful though.

Yea one of those universal systems would be really nice! I figured that the housing would be in the condition that he explained due to the fact that he's been a member since '01.

I just wanted to put the warning out so no one else gets burned by him. I should have just shelled out another $20 and got one of the steel housings off ebay. but i didnt know about them untill now.

Before you buy anything from anyone on this site or any other do a through background check on that person. See if they're here to stay and be apart of the community or whether to get their post counts up to just sell products. Just be careful.

I know I go onto DSMtuners classified section (which I heard has tons of ripoffs) all the time to see what parts are available because they have a slightly more selection of merchandise than this site, but I know I won't buy anything from somone not in my state that I couldn't arrange to pick up the product in person from.

You could even have them setup a quick ebay auction that you can pay for to have some security in what you buy.

Just my opinion...

yea that ebay auction sounds like a really good idea! thanks for the advise!

I'll have to put the old housing back on for now.
