Serpentine belt??

This belt shredded itself on my 98 Galant...The car will not turn over when I try to start it. Is there any engine damage possible?? Any help would be great. Thanks-

only thing i would say is possible is if you let it run after it shredded its self then it would have most likely over heated...and more than likely warped your head. thats about the only thing though. throw a new belt on and give it crank. let us know.

Try and turn it over with a spanner on the end of the crank!

Or it ran without the alternator and killed the battery completly.
