I have the DAVE BRODE upper intercooler pipe
It was $72, came with a 1g bov flange and adds as much power as a $240 GReddy uip. The shipping was really fast, 2 or 3 days

The Brode UIP is a nice piece. However, don't use the couplings that he sends with the pipe. They are of the cheapest rubber and will deform under boost. I watched a guy make back to back passes at 17psi with the Brode UIP and couplings, and he blew the pipe right out of the hose both times.
After i got my UIP installed with his couplings, my very first run, I blew the pipe right out of the hose from the TB elbow. I triple clamped the coupling on there. It held for a few days but bulged out soooo bad that I thought the rubber was gonna tear. And all this was on only 15 psi. So I ended up buying a 6" piece of heavy duty 2.5" coolant hose from NAPA for $8. My pipes and hose don't move now. Just an FYI for those looking at the D. Brode UIP. Get the pipe but save your $10 and get some couplings and clamps from your local auto parts store.

How about a source for this item (url, phone #, e-mail, or address where it can be obtained)... Thanks.

BTW, good follow up Mike... that is some useful info.

I've had the 2.5" DB uic pipe and his custom 2.5" throttle body elbow for about a week now. Must say - really nice pieces. Excellent improvement in throttle response. It is for the 1gen, fit was perfect, practically no gaps for couplings to span, uic pipe is one piece, it came ready to paint, welds were neat and good looking. He even bends the ends (where the couplings go) outward a little bit so that it flows better. It cost me $95 w/o couplings, the elbow cost $60. I figured his elbow had to be better than a stock 2g elbow. Plus, no porting or extra work required. I used some shielded couplings at the joints. They are wrapped in a thin sheet metal "sleeve" that is attached to the clamps. (read - made for turbos!) I also love the way the bov is now mounted down low out of the way. You will have to hack the air can a lot and shorten the bov tube. The fact that it is not polished means you can customize it yourself with some good quality paint. I used a tool finish high-solids primer and chose a dark grey in a high-solids poly-urethane for topcoat, then I textured it. (not too flashy, but dam* cool) For $155 total for both pieces and maybe $10 for good shielded couplings, this is definitely a great bang for the buck mod. Retighten your coupling clamps every day for a few days to avoid any pop-offs later. It has changed my idle a wee bit though, but I also have a hacked maf. It isn't bad, but I am planning on using the flapper door mod to resolve it until I get an afc. Get the DB uic pipe, elbow and save $100 for a fuel pump!
BTW - if you get your own couplings you will need one coupling for 2" to 2" pipe and one coupling that is for 2" to 1.5" pipe. They will fit perfect. Plumbing couplings are measured a little different and standard plumbing pipes have thicker walls.

I am the friend from Genius' post above that has the Brode upper IC pipe, and the hoses kept blowing off. I took some vice-grips, and slightly bent the ends outward to look like a bell shape. I have not had a hose blow off since. I did see the Road Race pipe, and it seems to be of higher quality, and better fit, but the Brode pipe is still excellent for DSMers on a tight budget!

Ive had the Brode UIC pipe for about a year now and have never had any problems with it. Im not exactly running high boost either - 17psi :D

I have deleted post from eveclipse and genius.

Both of you made posts specific to another manufacuter, and offered no info on the product that is the subject matter of this particular review.

Guys, Please post an individual review for your specific part. If you like the RRE or CMV IC pipes then please open a new topic specific to these manufacturers and describe what is good and bad about their product as well as its quality, value, price and where to find it.

Please read and follow the parts review guidlines- they are set this way to keep an organized, informative, and helpful parts review.

Thank you :)
