My car shift pretty fine, in fact its usually great. As long as I move the shifter to the right a tiny bit to go into gear. If not it grinds.

Ive adjusted the cables on the shifter and thats a no go.

Any ideas?

Try swapping out the grommets below the shifter plate in the car. There are 4 of them. That might fix your problem. They're pretty cheap too. I know RRE sells them. I'm pretty sure many other places do as well.

flush your transmission fluid....sounds tacky...but it will help a little if you havent done it in a while <most people dont even do it at all!!>. I did it to mine and it doesnt grind at all. Other than that...let me know what happened cause im as clueless as you are...

Sounds alot like some nasty syncros. Not really much you can do about it but rebuild you tranny. If you got the money you might as well send your tranny to shep.

Have you replaced the bushings under the hood? That would be the next place I'd check.

check the bracket that hold the cables as they get to the tranny, mine loosened up and caused a similar problem
