This all started on www.irnn.net with me asking if anyone had a OEM style Carbon Fiber hood for sale. Then someone else jumped in and wanted one, and then another.
Thus far we are up to 4 people that want them and have a sponser that is willing to do a group buy

10 people needed
1g dsm = $395 per hood
2g dsm = $375 per hood

These will be VIS hoods. After 10 people have paid the order will be processed and then be deliered to the sponser in 1-2weeks.
Everyone will have to go and pick up their own hood. It will be in the around the Chicago Northwest suburbs.

As things sit right now I'd like to get at least 12ish people, just incase someone drops out at the last minute. I'm sure if we get 15 or 20 people we can get another price break.

The sponser that we are working is www.truehonda.com

thanks guys.

Are the hoods for 90-91's?

Also, I have seen cf hoods for cheaper through another reputable shop. I don't see 400 as that amazing of a deal. Are they full pin on or bolt on/pin on? I have been looking into a new cf hood for a while.

Hmm....Very interesting...

I am still contemplating on picking up a CF hood with some hood pins, but my car looks clean with the OE body for now so I will have to sit myself out...

$400 is probably a decent price for VIS, but I have seen better, maybe not better quality tho...

Good luck with the new hood tho!

does this price include shipping because AAS(andysautosport.com) offers a VIS oem hood for 2nd gen for $345.21 not including shipping.

if it includes shipping I may be in, not for sure though

you pick it up. no shipping needed.
and 345 is not that big of a deal because shipping will run you over $100

I would be down to pick one up. Shoot me a pm when the deal goes through. I have some heat cracks on my current hood so replacing it is something on my agenda. Just not in any rush to do it seeing as how i got some winter driving ahead of me.

lol..thanks..damn, i didnt even notice that..guess i'll have to find this elsewhere. I know a guy in minnesota who can hook us up with seibon hoods. If there are still ppl interested i can get more details from him so we can try to set something up like this again???

There is a groupbuy going on a local board. They are going through seibon. Local pickup only. Where you located at?
Also, I want one just as bad as the next guy, but I think that $450-$500 for a group buy is not that good a price.

Im in prospect heights, but dont have a problem pickin it up from anywhere around the chicagoland area. What local board are you talking about? I want just an oem style hood so seibon would be just fine. 450-500 isnt expensive but its not exactly cheap, good commercial price. Would love to find something cheaper though.
