i just bought a 1994 galant as a daily driver and i am pretty sure that the engine in it is the SOHC 4g64.
i know that this year galant also comes in the DOHC model so i am almost positive that its the 4g64.
just a couple of things i wanted to know
1.) to do a DOHC swap would i need anything more than the head and correct belts.?
2.) would i need to change either one of my manifolds.?
3.) are there any sensors that i would need to do the conversion and would i need to cut the harness at all.?
4.) will anything else fit in this year galant .?

DOHC conversion is explained on several sites. Check out www.4g64.com for links to the parts needed.
Intake manifold is different between SOHC and DOHC. Exhaust manifold is the same.

i think you'll need some aftermarket cam gears...or galant ones. not too sure about that.

Physically this is not a hard swap.
Drop any 4g63 DOHC head on.
Plug a few hoes in the block.
Put the parts on.
Wiring tho... its pretty involved. Unless of course you can find a GS ecu.
You need a 1994 GS DOHC cam gears & belt.
They are unique.
You also need an ecu.
Since your SOHC ecu will not run a distributorless ignition system.
AKA coil packs.
The IM is different. But you could use a 1g non-turbo manifold off of an T/E/L
I have all of this stuff.
From a manual trans 1994 Galant GS DOHC 4g64.
:D
I won't sell the gears tho.
I need them JIC I build a 2.4l.
