Well I took the car out yesterday to get some passes on it, 85 degrees out, track prep was crap due to all the street tires tearing up the VHT my new personal best at a 10.36 @142mph!!! :D This was with a horiable 1.682 60ft and 4.542 330ft. Last weekend when I blew the tranny I had a 1.59 60ft and a 4.300 330ft. Only if the track was preped better I could have gotten that 9 sec pass.
Next time I am going to work on getting that 60ft down some more and go for shit.

Here is the video of all the runs I did yesterday 2nd pass you will see I get crossed up out of the hole. went towards the wall

Yup, thats what I figured too, but I need to take my skirt off and just slam that 2nd gear LOL. My foot and my hand won't let me, it says "NO!! it's a DSM tranny!!"

Not bad for those crappy conditions. It will only get faster.

yeah I noticed you really didn't jam the gears, get a shep trans and jam them, if your really going for 9's, someone said your not going fast enough unless your breaking stuff too :burnout: Good lucky getting into 9's..but if your worried about the trans and dont have the $$$ to replace another one I totally understand that aswell.

It's not so much that, I just rebuilt the tranny the day before I took it to the tracks, so I was taking it easy on it till I know for sure everything is good to go. It has double syncro 2nd gear, heavy duty 3/4 conversion, evoIII steal shift forks, welded center diff and shimed to my liking. So next time I go out I will bang the gears alittle more, but honestly I would rather go rounds then run 1 9sec pass and break somthing. Thats how I have been able to keep this car together so well for the past 3 seasons. Only 1 break in 3 seasons and over 400passes on the car and it was just a shift rail.
Not bad considering I daily drive the thing too.

Just a quick question Jake, How are you traping 140+ but your only in fourth gear? Did you enlarge the gearing in any way? Congrats on the new personal bests and good luck with the 9's!!!

High rev limiter. That's still below 9k rpm in 4th.

thats amazing. It takes skill to keep everything together. You'll get to the 9's its just a matter of time.

Just a quick question, how many miles do you drive your car everyday? Do yo have any pics of your interior? Is it full or gutted? Just curious.

Thanks for keeping us updated. :)

I drive the car anywhere from 30-65miles a day, and the back seats and rear panels are taken out, everything up front still retains, carpet, seats, dash, stereo, speakers, power windows ect ect. So basically everything up front from the front seats and foward is still all stock stuff.

Car weighed in at 3250lbs with me in it last season, this season it weighs in at 3000lbs with me in it and 5 gallons of c16.

Hmm... I don't think a lot of people realize how hard it is to shift a 10second dsm. Excellent job on all fronts.

Ditch the stock gauges and get that monster tach in there. Then again, it's not really ricey since the car's so fast :P
