: 3d design of my car
LatDSM 07-17-2006, 07:03 AM This is what my car looks like yesterday.
http://www.dsmclub.lv/e107_plugins/kig_menu/_imagefiles/p1000469.jpg
But I ordered a guy I know to make a 3d model of what my car could/would look like with the exterior changes I have in mind. I thought I'd share the mid product and ask for input.

So what do y'all think?
talnteddriver29 07-17-2006, 10:44 AM looks good. Dont really like the colour tho
Btw, What kind of CAD program did he use? Is it "Vray Adv.?". (I jus saw those words in the small print)
_DeS_ 07-17-2006, 10:49 AM ya it does look good minus the color =D
french_hustler 07-17-2006, 11:38 AM Looks nice... about the program he used... probably 3d studio max as the file extension is a *.max file.
anyways... 3dsmax > maya :)
mikeg 07-17-2006, 11:48 AM looks good, but something about that front bumper doesn't look normal, I just don't know what it is
diablos991 07-17-2006, 12:05 PM I would say ditch the spoiler, and either get the talon high rise or the eclipse turbo spoiler, and leave the top half of the car black. IMHO
95mitsugsx 07-17-2006, 04:21 PM Can you ask your friend where he got the blue prints for the 3d model because i do visual effects. I use 3dsmax. thanks
Die-Civic-Die 07-17-2006, 04:22 PM the wing doesnt go well with the tail lights. go wingless
and i like the green. you just need darker tint and wheels
LatDSM 07-18-2006, 12:16 AM on the tail lamps - I'm thinking black or red tint...

RSbeast 07-18-2006, 01:36 PM really awesome work.
Its a little different style than what we're used to on this side of the pond, but it's actually kinda unique. Not a big fan of the vynils, but eh. Really nice model work non the less.

It is different. Maybe thats why I like it? Actually...its more of a - "the more I look at it, the more I like it" thing!
The vinyls - in contrast to the many you might see, the ones used here are advertisments of my companies/sites/car club, so they actually mean something that I can relate to personally...not just some random "good enough" sticker.
Talonboy3 08-06-2006, 01:14 PM very nice model man.. looks very realistic.. I am also a 3D modeler as well and I work with 3DsMax / Vray.. I do not have a Dsm model at the moment.. about to work on one.. but I do have a 350z in the making.. here is a pic if u care? lol

u4ikstilz 08-24-2006, 02:46 PM I think it looks like a headturner.
I especially like the wheel choice.
how much did you pay for that design? Very clean model.
(die wing, die!)
gota0have0boost 08-24-2006, 03:51 PM Not feeling it.
natedawg9640 08-24-2006, 09:20 PM how long does it take to learn that software?
RE's 97 gs-t 08-24-2006, 09:51 PM looks good, but something about that front bumper doesn't look normal, I just don't know what it is
front bumber is 97+ while rest is 95-96 so why not convert the sides and rear to 97+
gringo 08-25-2006, 01:22 AM Very Sweeet 3D Work !
Gringo /
93autotragic 08-25-2006, 01:46 AM thats pretty hot, Has the looks of a porsche.
spyder1gst 08-25-2006, 10:03 AM color is fine but match the rims better....and i like the back tail light look...
bass0r 08-25-2006, 10:18 AM I don't know if this had been asked before or not, but is there any chance that you will make the model file available for your beloved fellow DSMers so we can do paint and wheels schemes on it?
Pretty please? hehe If not I understand..
thanks
Ken
kornmstr1 08-25-2006, 01:01 PM color - good
wing - bad
body - great
lights - could be better
vinyl's - better colors, fonts, placement, etc could be used
wheels - too small and common for the look i think your goin for.
great model, looking forward to pics of the final product
dna59 08-29-2006, 06:57 AM The 3d design is looking awesome. Couple things on the car could be changed in my opinion, but in the end it's u'r car and what makes u happy.
LatDSM 08-29-2006, 07:16 AM Model file will not be made avialable, because the author has kept it for himself as his intellectual property.
As on the design - I'm fairly set on it being such. The car is now receiving some technical upgrades before moving to the visual stage ;)
