I see a few of you guys around in Dutchess, Orange counties, but not sure who's on this site... Where do you guys usually meet up @?? I'm in Dutchess county with a green '97 GS-T 16G turbo, built tranny, etc... I'm trying to build it up, actually in the middle of doing fuel mods. Also just purchased a ETS FMIC with instructions. I'm trying to have this done without going to a shop, but doing it myself along with an extra hand and some fmic knowhow would be cool. If anyone is in the area who could help me out with an install for a fellow DSMer between this weekend and next weekend, give me a shout! I'll pay ya and I'll bring some beer/ pizza! If there's no takers that's cool, not a prob... I'd like to know who on this site is in the area. Thanks!! :D

Yeah, I'm over here in little ol' New Windsor. Considering the fact I'm still getting everything together for my, You guessed it, My 95 GSX with a 6 bolt and 16g setup, all supporting mod's blah, blah, blah. I'm still learning so I would most likly not be any more help :( But I am a quick learner. I'm planning on having the GSX done by no later than the end of Febuary. I'm in clifton park and i have about 15 friends with turbo dsm's, it seems like only 2 of them are up and running at any given time though. this summer i'm looking into starting up a club for the capital district. i'll keep posting updates on that as i figure out how its gonna work. other than that i usually just go to the kohls parking lot on central ave in albany on nice nights around 9:30 10pm. a lot of people show up and sometimes a couple fellow dsmers, somebody had an Evo VI tommy mackinen eddition there too.

A whole lot more than I should have. But given my lack of immediate cash the only way for me to get out of my 98 rs was to trade that in and give the dealer a 2700 dollar deposit and finance the remaining 10.5k..I know..I know..But my payments aren't that bad and i have a closet and shed full of my parts [Evo III, FMIC, Injectors, DSMLink, fuel pump, Exhaust, etc...but either way I had to ask a few favors but all in all. Its worth it to me. I've wanted this car in this color for like 6 years. and to finally have it, leave me speechless. Once the warm weather hits, i'll be putting all my parts on but for now it'll say how I got it. Intake, Bov, intercooler piping, and catback. I put my instrument cluster in as well as my Turbo timer. Soon soon soon. SO when are ya gonna be back in NY?

Damage to my hand includes- 1 cut nerve, 2 cut tendents. Well its actually my finger, but now the whole hand is all wrapped up. 2 months minimum time + physical therapy.

Damn dude that sucks. ALOT. I had Facial reconstructive surgery [seriously] back in july of 05. You wanna talk about pain. The removed both my upper and lower jaws, fixed my deviated septum [sp?], with my top jaw, say you were lookin at it through the top of my skull, they cut it twice going towards my throat, and they cut my lower jaw on both sides vertically. Lucky for insurance, other wise the surgery would have been well over 150k. So i in a way know what your going through. Oh yeah and also they wired my jaw shut for 10 weeks. i lost 30+ pounds.

Hey do you know anyone around here that can source a 6-bolt for cheap? I am only interested in the motor from oil pan to valve cover, no need for the intake or exhaust sides. Japstar has one for $1400 with out the transmission but the motor has so much shit caked on it there is no way it has fewer than 50k on it. I am going to blow it apart and do it my way anyway so I guess mileage doesn’t really matter. I just don’t feel like giving that guy money lol.

About the meet, I just got a new job, [finally] and Im not sure about the hours just yet. I start monday so on monday I'll get some type of schedule I'm sure. I'll post up again then letting you know when Im around.

Its going good so far. Just the tip is dead, its frozen strait. I have like 40% movement at the second joint. Its only been a few weeks of Physical therapy so I still have much improvement to go.

I blew the clutch and just never fixed it , I was broke and had no licence anyway so I figured I would just get a crappy old Honda than that shit the bed so I bought a simple 2002 Accord with my girl and the mitsubishi just kinda sat there and one day i went over to my parents house to see it and it was all mold on the inside the rotors were rusted to shit the alternator went dead as did the battery and the tires rotted away its sitting on the rims sinking into the pavement with 77k miles on it

I am trying to be patient, but its killing me.

+1 on that its only a 3 to 4 hours job and it doesn't cost more than 500 for an aftermarket clutch. But since it has been sitting there for I don't know how long you probably need more work than just a clutch now.

Pull the plug going to your coil pack and it will just crank and not start.

I just now ordered my new surface for my fidanza to work in conjunction with my ACT 2600 and street disc. I got a deal on it some time back, the stamp on the PP says 2004! I hope those ones weren't some of the ones from the "bad" years I thought I saw something on. It should be enough for now. My stocker is starting to slip bad and I don't have the money to up to something else. Plus Im only going to be running an EVOIII. Which along with my FMIC and Clutch/flywheel are going in on wendnesday. I can't wait. From what I've seen my car is the only white 2g Talon around... I know that sounds a bit impossible but I haven't seen any others. You'd need [at least] fully built head with cams, DSMLink, a Wideband o2, bigger injectors, and some race gas to see anything near 400. My setup, [evo3, FMIC, 650's, wally 255, dsmlink, wideband, intake, 3" tbe, ect..] and I won't be close to 400...I'd maybe be around like 350 IF that. I'm guessing you will be around 320ish? It's pretty easy apparently. And to hold the tranny get a floor jack and a friend. And everything is easier with a lift. But i'll be on my back so. Meh. :dunno:

956bolt do you build the car you're self ? I don't know about it that much but im afraid to break the main rear seal or whatever else can get botched while you're trans. is being takein apart. Once that starts leaking oil on your clutch setup its gonna die fast .
As far as the Evo_3 set-up we all seem to be building I do not believe it will put out 4 hundred I have read alot on it and it seems that fully supported these turbos will stay around 320 - 350 max and that takes alot of money . Im just hoping to be a solid three hundred for now and then its time to start a 6bolt swap of my own

I started mine tonight after work, I started at like five and worked at like 1/4 speed. I didnt finish it tonight but I got a bulk of it out of the way. tomorrow all i've gotta do is swing the suspension out of the way undo the bellhousing and mounts and do the clutch and what have you.

Thanks that's my uncles fully built 56 belair. He said hes got something like 450ish at the crank. Next week when I get my Evo3 On and tuned we are going to run it. Im totally pumped. I think its going to be a good pretty close race. Either way that is like the definition of old school vs new school. Carb VS Fuel injection. I'm going to get it on video, expect it here first. :D

EDIT- I'm just curious when you guys did you clutch what problems did you run into? My list:
1. Shifter cable bushing dry rotted to the tranny.
2. Axle nut's were seized on. Had to put tires back on, pop out center cap, and stand on the brakes.
3. Couldn't get axles out.
4. Broke the reverse light sensor while lowering trans.
5. While trying to install the trans kept getting caught on the subframe.
6. Actually dropped a 17mm socket into the speedo hole. [I got it out lol]
7. Took about an hour and a half to get trans to finally pop in.
8. The threads in the starter housing stripped...Had to get it re-tapped.
9. [This one is all on me...] Due to jack stand placement dented the shit out of my floor.

I think there was more but I can't recall.

I have zero mechanical experience so I am ging slow and having fun. I will try to get some pictures of the progress this week
So far I have the Dejon tool UICP to the throttle body, greddy R/S and the Dejon snorkel all on. I have replaced both oil lines, the radiator hoses the alternator is ready to install and the manifold turbo and downpipe are all off waiting on a gasket then I will bolt it all up and figure out the clutch situation and the breaks. < I can't get the calipers off so I think I might just have to start at the bearings as they are prob. rusted as hell too.

No I have not started it up yet. Tomorrow is my last day of class then its full throttle working time! I have to still put on the intake manifold, relocate the coil pack, install my FMIC 10min lol, and need a radiator. I have a lot of re-wiring to do. I want to make it cleaner so I am going to take my time. The install only took about 20 minutes with me and my friend.

Summer update: The GSX is still down for a bit longer. Between insurance, car payment, My cell phone bill AND my parents and sisters it all just got to be too much. I just can't wait to drive it now...it'll be a whole new car. I'm excited to say the least.

My license is suspended due to 2 unpaid tickets. So I mean its nothing that important but still I don't want to push my luck. The insurance company decided to kick me off because I was 3 days late on ONE payment. So i had to turn my plates in and to top it off, the plumbing job [I was only a helper] fell threw and I had to get my old job back which isnt exactly the best paying. but to be honest the pay between this job and the plumbing only works out to be like 30-40 bucks a week less and I get to work on cars all day with a bunch of my friends. So i mean yeah money is tight but I really do like where I work and such so it kinda evens out. But Im hoping by early October to have everything straight again. =/ Soon enough I guess. how about everyone else? how've you all been?

I have to redo everything because since the car was stolen last summer I bought a new boost controler and I really don't know how to do the wiring on the thing. I always got the wiring on my car done by a friend who is in North Carolina.

If I'm not mistaken all you need for a EBC, is a power a ground and what ever plug comes from your solenoid...As well as that vacuum line. But its not all that hard to do, just grab a haynes, or chilton manual and take your time. Ask twice, cut once.
