Street Racers Beware:

An investigation has confirmed an eminent crackdown in Illegal Street racing in and around the tri-county area. Tazwell, Peoria and Woodford, along with the Illinois State Police are conducing a multi-departmental crack down on illegal racing events in and around the area.

Independent sources have purported instances of non-uniformed officers present at the local events, and rumors of racing poser “cop wannabe’s” reporting on car enthusiasts’ non-sanctioned events (narks).

Using the much-famed “The Spot” for reference, Pekin police have received funding to outfit Pekin Township, and the lower river park with surveillance cameras. These cameras are state of the art, having the ability to see in near darkness with their built in infrared illuminator module, and have the ability to zoom in and read license plates clearly from more than 150 yards. Putting that in perspective, that is over a football field away. Far enough that the naked eye in all likely hood would not see the camera.

These cameras will be monitored and recorded at all times.

Change of Status for location:

The lower Pekin River Park used to be Private Property. This is no longer the case. The land now belongs to Pekin Proper, and the roadway running through the park, is considered a public street, giving the law officers, every right to issue citations, as they see fit.

I was chastised and ultimately booted from CSS, due to me warning off Compressor Surge and Killerfish from participating over at “the spot”. At which time the owner of that site told me, in no uncertain terms, not to “bad mouth” his racing spot, and if I did so again, I would be banned.

Since I personally know both Killerfish and Compressor Surge, I told the owner to take a staggering hop off a bridge. Killerfish himself made inquiries about what had been stated above, and from yet another source, it was revealed that the above statements are correct. I will leave it up to Killerfish to comment.

I can account for numerous DSMcentral members ticketed in the last 2 years by just being near this racing spot. In 3 cases, those individuals were not participating in race events when ticketed. This has occurred with several other individuals from Peking, driving mustangs. Alas, I cannot chalk it up to import owner profiling.

It has been rumored that since the racing events happen in Peoria County, Peking PD cannot legally write a citation. This is a fallacy. The three individuals that I’m aware of were ticketed in Pekin, for occurrences that purported happened in Peoria County. The tickets stuck.

I stand here today stating, if you race over in Pekin. You will be busted, caught on camera, issued tickets and in the end lose out on hundreds of dollars in fines, that could go for bigger turbos, better fuel control, or entry fees into sanctioned events. The choice is yours.

Other race spots that are being monitored:

Trigger Road, Peoria County.
Washington Blacktop, Woodford County.
Rt6 and 474, Peoria County & Illinois State police.
Adams and Jefferson, near the industrial section Peoria PD
Church Rd, near old Stone Church, Bartonville Illinois
Noffsinger Road, Washington Illinois.

Feel free to comment on other police sightings, the use of non descript Police cars, utilized for Traffic enforcement.

Il State has a pair of older f bodies, all blacked out.
East Peoria has been using a dark green newer Monte Carlo for traffic violation in the construction zones.
Peoria has numerous non-municipal plated vehicles used for Police action.

Just to add on to this. Lake County has had a reported sighting of a " nark " FORD FOCUS with a Full body kit either Blue or Black with Underglow lights. Apparently this is an attempt by the Roundlake(area), Grayslake, Gurnee, and Waukegan Police departments and Lake county sheriffs department to crack down on street racing as well.

Sorry to those that catch the bs because of it, but if your out racing you will be nailed at some point...

its his choice, he can say what he wants..

buuut.. yeah.. lots of tickets are given out thru the mail 'unexpectedly' for just spectating, and people are having NO CLUE how they are being sighted...
of course, there is no way of fighting these because of the location of where the ticket was given, the judge automatically knows you were in a 'street racing' spot...

Wow. That would seriously suck. I'm done w/ the street scene. It's all legalized and track only for me.

too bad the closest track is still over an hour away and cost a decent amount of money to get in.. i guess its worth the cost so you dont have to get the tickets

FUCK THE POLICE!!!

^It's funny that people say this. They all hate the police for doing their jobs. The people that say ignorant stuff like this don't see what they have to deal with on a day-in day-out basis. The people who say ignorant stuff don't have to be called names, spit at, possibly shot at, hit with something or anything else you can think of as part of their job. Police put up with a lot of crap and rarely get thanked for it. Yet, when their life is in danger and they really need help the same person who said fuck the police will be calling the police for help. And guess what they will be there to do their job no matter what.

So try this. Next time, instead of saying FUCK THE POLICE, realize that they have a tough job to do, try not getting in trouble with them in the first place, and if you do, accept the responsibility that you did something wrong and are being held accountable for it and change your attitude when talking to them. Odds are that if you are nice and respectful the same treatment with be reciprocated (There are some police that wont) but most will. However, if you have a bad attitude towards them, they will probably be dicks back and rightfully so.

you guys have no idea how much dicks are around here.
P.s. This makes no sense. So there is a lot a dick in your area from what you are saying.

Obviously your a cop or know people who are cops, they can express whatever they want about how they feel about cops. Although, I think cops are usually rediculous about a lot of stuff in general.

I know alot of shitty cops and alot of good cops. My uncle became a cop a yr ago and everytime i see him i make fun of him for it. I've met many assholes and many nice cops-the nicest 1 is the one who gave me my only ticket lol (40 in a 25, but i really was going like 55-60.) One cop stoped to talk to my friend and complimented his gsx saying he plans on buying 1 soon. Then there are the assholes, i got pulled over for suspision. His excuss was a young kid shouldn't be driving a fast sports car(dont know how this is grounds for suspsion)..lol i told him its NT and slow as hell then he wasted my time and let me leave after preaching about going fast. I was doing the speed limit when he pulled me over.

Lol we were looking for a party one night and a cop got a call about racing and he saw all of us pulled over on the side. He comes and askes what were doing and crap and hes like is this a gst? Im like nope its a gsx. Hes like nice i got a supercharged civic at home that i used to race all the time then i got this job and i never go out anymore. Then he told me that he auto crosses and said if i ever wanna go just let him know. He lives down the block from my friend which i later found out. And he told us that if we are racing just to keep it under 80mph...

I grew up in the DeKalb county area and worked in Chicago until moving south. Yes the cops can be a pain in the butt... but. I agree that you should take it slow and only open up A)in the middle of nowhere,or B) at a sanctioned race / test site. If you street race your looking for trouble and pain, either by yourself or someone else. Almost every ticket I have received especially in my latter years I have thanked the officer for doing their job. They are keeping our streets safe for everyone involved. (If you had kids what would you think?)

No, he is saying that good dick is very expensive and hard to come by in his area and that is why he has taken up street racing to take his mind off of it...lol

haha. No shit...I've met a few cool cops.

Im not going to be one to say "fuck the police" because there just doing there job, granted there are some asshole police out there...but the way I see it is that if you were foolish enough to get cought then you deserve it.

And rich, one thing I never told you. I get free entry to test and tune at rt.66, I can get up to like 10 tickets for each day. And its about 15 min from my house. So maybe ill start thread where people can claim the other 9 tickets ill have each time, and we can all meet at my house and take a nice cruise out to 66..its a pretty easy/fun drive from my house.

Looks like we should start moving the "spots" south by me, here in will county the police out here probably wouldn't know what to do if they cought street racers, plus is so rural out here. you hardly even see police. South of I-80 at least.

By the way, I am going to be in Chicago Ill in mid/early August, which will be my first time (gonna pop my cherry:banana: ), is there any cool dsm meets/spots that I can go visit??? You can pm me if you want with some info if you'd like. I don't know about chancing the DSM to go 2,000 miles without getting pulled over or breaking, but my brother and I might take the EVO out there.:D
