Just seeing if there anyone around me with DSMs. Are there any meets scheduled for iowans? Also are there any dsm car clubs for Iowa, and more important des moines area?

We tried to get a meet together last summer but as has been the case for a long time, interest died out as everyone got involved in other summer activities. Maybe we'll give it another go next spring/summer...

I'm in Cedar Falls.. previously from Iowa City and Clear Lake. There's a small DSM crowd in Cedar Rapids. As far as around here there's only one or two enthusiasts that I know of. A good friend of mine who I'm sure is down for a cruise/meet is the only one out of the 'gang' who still owns a DSM though... 2.4l 4g64 2g TSi AWD that should be running low 11's easily once we finish tuning :D

BTW, I'm Stefan, my cell is 319-415-7634 if anyone's ever in the area or needs help in IA. I've talked to you before maui, that's when I was going to U of I though.

Hooray for Ames! I see plenty of nicely done up cars (including a couple of those 2g's), but also plenty of beat up piles of trash as well. Where about do you live? I'm on campus for the last year, but I still get out 'into town' every once in a while. If you see a white 98 GSX with a rusted out hatch lifter ticking it's way down the street, that's probaby me.

Yeah, there's a few nice 2G's around town, as well as plenty of nicely done imports and domestics. One of my friend owns a Red GSX, and another friend owns a Silver GST. Though, there's no shortage of rice running around either.

I used to live in Willow, representing Anderson! I guess I got sick of the whole 10x10 cell. But, I live near Main Street now with my own place. If I wouldn't have gotten a house, I wouldn't have gotten a DSM, as I knew I'd want somewhere that I could work on it :-). But hey, if you ever need a place to wrench, PM me and maybe you can stop by.

But, we definately need to get a meet together next Spring. This 70 degree weather lately only makes me dread this upcoming Winter. Next Summer we also need to get a cruise together to Cedar Falls or Newton Dragway.

So a meet will happen. It will involve a trip to a track (probably CF), and maybe some food somewhere. But this will all happen when the Iowa weather stops being schizophrenic and decides to be summer for more than 3 days at a time.

We'll plan on reviving this thread sometime in March. Anybody want to take responsiblity for remembering? I'd put Stefan in charge, but he's talking about jumping ship and becoming arizona(not)boostin...

well scrounge up money for a spare tranny, and get it rebuilt. or a shep rebuild. the shootout isn't until mid august so you have all spring and summer to save. im hoping to take my car to the shootout also along with the rest of my "crew" :D lol

I'm in Lincoln, Omaha's only about an hour away so which ever one you go to you'll get both the Lincoln and Omaha people.. which is alot lol. You can PM me or whatever when you decide and I'll let people know about it.

i was lookin at cedar falls raceway's page on april 22 they have a spring warm up gates open at 10 racing starts at 11. they are having a swap meet also. and on may 5th there is a midnight mania, gates open at 8 racing is 9pm-1am. let me know what you think would be best

Im up by NW IA (Ft Dodge), moving down near Omaha soon. I go to CF a lot, and dont really see any DSMs running the streets.
