I have a tre transmission with a karking limited slip differential in it. Ive been looking around for a better gear oil for the car since everytime i drain my transmission using penzoil i see metal flakes the whole time it drains. This transmission is a year old and has a few visits to the track and its already having trouble to shift into 3rd on high rpm shifts(from 5-6500 rpms). Ive never missed a gear or abused this transmission.
Im wondering what can be the best gear oil to use? And some of the redline gear oils and other companies that ive been debating on what to get will say that it does or doesnt have a limited slip additive. What does this mean?
One more thing on my other dsm which has all goods in it im planning of beating the tranny until it goes but id like to keep it working as long as possible, its a 92 and its grinding alittle, im going to use redline heavy shockproof gear oil in the transfer case and rear end but im still thinking of what i want to use thatll protect it the most, especially high rpm shifts, i think if i try to shift anywhere above 7500 rpms itll blow using penzoil since its so thin.
should i just go with a redline mt-90 gear oil for my awd car's transmission and heavy shock proof for the transfer case and rear end and use redline synthetic gear oil with the limited slip additive 75w90?
