ANNUAL CANNONBALL POKER RUN 2007

So, Im sure that the title is what brought most of whoever of you that are looking at this. (Wow I think I lost brain cells reading/typing that)

Anyway, Ive been thinking I want to do something thats an event that will bring people to the site more and help put the name out there.

What better way to do this than a good ol fashion poker run? right? Mike and I are working the details out when we get more rules and stuff together we will post them here is what we have come up with so far...

1) Entry fee - $20 for the driver $10 for the radio/navigation person (this person is required/mandatory) total is $30 to enter.

2) $10 per passenger in the car, other than the driver and radio person.

3) Each vehicle will be required to carry a working 2way radio and/or cell phone (that works)

4) Each vehicle will be given a set of driving directions, you are not required to follow the given route, but it is highly reccomended.

5) Each vehicle (driver/all passengers) is required to sign a waiver of release, stating...that TNKYtuners is not responsible for any tickets/traffic violations etc.

6) Have fun!! Enjoy the scenery, its a mountain drive from what I have been told.

START-LOUISVILLE, KY (PAPA JOHN'S STADIUM???)
1ST STOP-BOWLING GREEN, KY (CORVETTE MUSEUM???)
2ND STOP-NASHVILLE, TN (TITANS STADIUM???)
***LONGEST LEG OF RUN FROM Nashville to Knoxville***
3RD STOP-KNOXVILLE, TN (DUNNO YET!?!?)
END-DEALS GAP/THE TAIL OF THE DRAGON

What do ya'll think???

** And remember, the more cars we have the bigger the prize money!! **

$30 x 100cars = 3grand
3grand -2grand for prize money
(1st-$1,000 2nd -$750 3rd -$250)
Tthe last 1grand goes to the site for BBQs and Tshirts and Stickers, etc.)

So if we get 200cars, think of what the amount for 1st place will be

Who all is interested in this? Lets get a list going.

So let me get this straight since I have no idea what poker runs are. We start from one location and race to finish at another location and whoever gets there first wins and gets the money?

No sir, Ok, the way a poker run works;
At the starting location everyone (drivers) gets one(1) poker card, at each following stops each driver gets another (1) card, at the end of the run the player/driver w/ the best 5 card poker hand wins the loot.

I might be interested keep me updated. Just a few more questions, is there an age limit to participate? What is the minimal amount of cars you would want to do this? How long do you think this poker run would last? Would we have to rent a hotel? How long of a drive is this poker run? So you go by poker hand and its not just like who ever has the highest added up cards wins right, I was just wanting to get this certain before I played? And also what stops people from going to wal-mart and buying a deck and saying that is the card they were given?

Sounds like a good time to me. I have always wanted to cannonball run from coast to coast just like the movies.

No age limit, trying to get at a minimum of 100 cars, we already have about 65 confirmed now. I will be a one day event. It's a little bit of a long drive, Louisville, KY. to Deals Gap in NC.
Yes we will be scoring by standard poker playing hands, we will be purchasing numerous decks which we will mark, stamp, punch, etc. some sort of marking for the poker run cards, plus each card you receive will be marked w/ your driver number to try to limit down the cheating between competitors

I think I'm going to be in. My friend was telling me about this thing, and that it was only Nissan run, but then told me they opened it up to everyone. If my car is running good, at the time, I'll be there.

I am gonna have to say nay unless I could get some friends to come plus this would have to be a time when I didn't have any school.
