All DSM'ers in Kansas!

I got the idea a few days ago to have a Kansas DSM meet sometime around spring break of '07. From what I've seen I don't think anyone's tried to put together one in Kansas, so why not?

Post here or PM me if you're interested. If we get enough people interested it'll most likely go down. I've been talking to a few people around here (I live in Manhattan) and I'm still waiting to gauge their interest.

As for location, my first inkling would be Manhattan, mainly because I live here! :P If anyone thinks of a better and more convenient location for everybody let me know.

Well, rather than place it immediately in Manhattan, where are the tracks in Kansas located? That'd probably be the deciding factor in where we hold it.

I know of 2 tracks in Kansas. One is in Topeka- Heartland Park. They usually have the NHRA every year there. Heres the website www.hpt.com and the other is in Wichita, but dont know the name of it and it was ghetto!

KCIR (kansas city international raceway) and Heartland are the only ones I know of.
We tried to do one earlier this year but it all fell apart. It ended up being me and 1 other dsmer, but it was all good cause I tried to do it at the kcsubaru.com meet so there was plenty of awd turbo cars. :P ;)
My vote is to have it at Shawnee Mission Park. Thats where the meet that was stated above was held. It worked really well, if we decide to have a bbq.

This is what we've been trying to do on tuners.
If you know anyone on kcsr.com, tell them about it, cause it would be awesome to have as big of a turnout as the kcsubaru guys did. I think there were 30+ people at the bbq.

im up for it. We have tried to organize something but it never turns out. But hopefully some of the faster dsms will have their cars done. It should be pretty interesting to see how things turn out

I have an idea for the meet so that we dont have to wait until spring. There is this go-kart place called saddlers (fka nas-cart), and we could have the meet there. Ive been to a couple car meets there. What we do is meet there, show off our cars, take pics, drive the go-carts, and then go cruise around afterwards. If any one has any objections let me know.

Feb. 3rd, we meet at BWW across the street from Saddlers at 1-1:30. We meet, greet and eat. Then after that its a couple of laps in the go-karts. Anyone west of lawrence, my friend Kyle (aka eclipseGS on tuners) is going to meet people at the jacks in Lawrence then cruise up to BWW.

No the BWW is in Olathe. Its right across the street from Saddlers. Whats happening in lawrence is if you live west of lawrence then meet with kyle at the jacks down there, and then cruise up to Olathe to BWW. Well we have several people on here that say they are going. Same with dsmtuners and KSCR. KCSR has 2 to 3 people that said they would go. Tuners has 5 to 6 people, I believe. All cars are welcome.

Anyone west of Lawrence that want to get together with some other people and cruise down to Olathe, give Kyle a call at (785) 393-3632. He's a fellow dsmer. Just tell him your from dsmtalk and that Bryce told you to talk to him for the cruise from Lawrence to Olathe (or something to that extent). Hes meeting people at 23rd and Harper at Set em up Jacks (I think thats what its called) at 12:00.

For everyone's info., BWW and Saddlers are in Olathe, not Overland Park. Sorry for the mis-understanding. Its not that far of a drive from OP so I hope it doesnt ruin the chances for some people to come.

I'm coming out of Overland Park as well. I really would love to come, but I don't have a DSM. (Trying to sell my 1990 300zx, first). Postpone this like, a month and I might have one by then. :P Man, NOW I feel like I'm missing out.
