I have a 50 trim and i feel like i could definitely give up a lil more low end so i voted for the 3052 which is just a step above in my book.

the fp3052 is hands down the best "daily driver" 2.0/pump gas turbo.

For a 2.3/2.4 - FP3575 or t67 with the .68 hotside.

For a 2.0 - GT35r

Im running a big 16g but with all the proper mods I would go with a LOT bigger turbo on the street still especially if I had AWD.

For "daily" city driving, like stoplight to stoplight, the Evo 16G has to be the winner. For communting on interstates for some distance maybe a bigger turbo is the winner. So there is a disdinction to be made between two kinds of "daily driving".

The 14b is one tough turbo to beat. Mine is ported, nothing special just a DIY port job and I hit FULL BOOST at 2700rpms. Oh yea...and did I mention that its with a STOCK DOWNPIPE AND CAT in place? No joke..I can get video proof as well. :)

The 14b definitely has me spoiled. Ive driven 50trim'd car, EVOIII16g, big16, small16 and none come close to the 14b in regards to daily driveability.

Heck I can be at 20% throttle and hit boost..:P

Either a 60-1 on a 2.0 or a T-67 on a 2.4

I had a 50 trim on my 92 talon 2.0 . It was very nice turbo. I built a 2.4 so went with FP3065.It has crazy insane power and top end.It spools up full around 4000 or so. You can gear down if you want to get quicker spool up.
For off the line can use my stutterbox or anitlag. If I had a 2.0 I would have got the FP3052. Somedays I still think the 3052 might be slightly better for around town but as some say keeping out of boost saves some gas and likely saves a lot of tickets.
I like knowing that I have the reserve with my FP3065 also.I ran only around low twenties last season which think was around 500 engine hp. That was screaming fast but know if take it up to 30s should get 650engine hp.
That would be totally nuts. Only time every really use that type of power is the track unless you like sleeping in jail or losing your liscence forever.

I myself am only running a 20g. But i have a few friends that are running around on PT67's and they seem to be the way to go IMO. So i voted for the T67.

The T67 is also the turbo i will be getting here in a few months, after my motor build is up. Cant wait to feel the bad boy lol

I run a precision sc5031e t3/t4 .63 a/r and its great for the street with my mods. However a 35r would be my weapon of choice once I get the supporting mods.

Currently running a B16G to get engine set up and broken in before throwing on a PTE 3582R :D

Should be fine on a daily driver and get good gas mileage too since it won't spool instantaneously.

I had the following

60 trim (Very basic $500 turbo new from FP) = 10.6 @ 132

35R (From AGP Turbo) = 9.9 @ 141

60-1 (From AGP) T4 HKS Setup = Only dynoed. Never raced 570 WHP

42R (From AGP) = 129 in the 1/8 test and tune. No full passes yet. But went 9.8 @ 140 hitting the brakes early.

I went from ported 14b, to e3b16g, to a BR20g. The spool up is really great with the Br20g, Im not kidding, its not as fast-not far off, but it does damn well. And when it does spool its a helluva a lot more fun.

anyone have a 30r? I think that would by my next turbo. My friends have 35r, 42r, but spool up is completely unpractical on the street.

I've been running my precision 56-trim for about a year now. I like it a lot. Evo III 16g's are nice too. It would be cool to get and Evo III rebuilt with ball-bearings. A local shop said they could do it. It's deffinetly crossed my mind.

Im stock T25, Im looking at th FP Big T28. Im only looking for 350awhp and since its been known to put out 404Awhp I think it will do just fine.
Only thing im worried about is MPG since it starts boosting at2k and hits full boost at 3k.... Been thinking of running some larger just for that reason,
Maybe something that hits full at 4 since I change gears at 3 driving normal trying to save gas....

14B.... cheap to replace ($100 for a good used one), easy to find, direct bolt up installation. More than 300 HP is overkill on a daily driven FWD (unless it sees the strip on the weekends on a regular basis). A ported 14B spools fast and is very controllable, and for under 300hp applications it really rips.

For an AWD I'd say a 16G though... the extra power is useable on an AWD and the 16G still bolts up and is fairly cheap.

I run a ported 14B on my car, and I'm happy with it. I rarely drag race though, or I'd probably upgrade to a 16G. I mostly use my car for blasting through the mountains after work. We have alot of twisty mountain roads around here. A fast spooling turbo with alot of readily available low end torque is a must for steep winding hills.

I guess it really depends on what you use the car for and what your budget is. There are alot of more expensive ball bearing turbos that would fill these roles better... but I sure can't afford a $2000 turbo. I don't know many people who can these days.

evoIII works well for me. Great turbo, especially for the price. Mine is fully ported with the upgraded wg flapper. Mated with a ported 2g mani, I really like it a lot. Gonna try and get 400 awhp out of her.

I never had a 16g, but I'm wanting to switch over to 50% more CFM lol. But the 14b is probably an awesome turbo for everyday driving. I don't drag race much and I live in the city so alot of spirited driving is involved. Not alot of time to spool to 4K on a big turbo. lol Oh yeah, I get about 30 mpg too.

Turbo supra reliable daily driver?
Hi guys, new to the Supra here. I have been thinking of selling my car and purchasing a Turbo Supra. I currently own a '92 Dodge Stealth R/T Non turbo, and I have had enough with it's problems and issues. Seems like I never get enough money to get any mods. Not worth the performance to me, plus FWD sucks.

I read the daily driver thread on another page and seems like people here are pretty comfortable daily driving these cars. I've read epinions.com and other car review sites and people seem to love these cars. I've only came across the headgasket problem which while costy (which I'm used to ), still an easy fix.

I'd like to please know what kind of problems these cars have and if its a good idea to drive them daily without any transportation at all. The difference w/ this car and my Stealth is that this will actually be worth all the money I put into it beacuse of the performance.

Any help appreciated

Hope to become a future MKIII owner.

Note: I do not have a garage, and do not have any experience with working on cars. I've done simple jobs myself, like plugs and wires, air intake, etc. But nothing major. Most of the time this car will go to the mechanic. It is a bit easier to work on with the inline 6 though (as opposed to V6 in my Stealth)
