Well, I had a huge story about my DSM career but somehow the page refreshed on me and I lost it all  :tat: :tat: :tat:
I bought my first DSM when I was 17, crashed it on my 18th bday:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/bigboostdsm/Oldcarcrash3.jpg
Bought my 2nd DSM a month after I crashed the first one:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/bigboostdsm/My2DSMs.jpg
Went through 3 motors in the new one, all stupid errors on my part. Finally got a good motor in then put a 50 trim on it. Ran it like that for a month, realized I needed a reliable car at this point in my life and parted out the dizzum. It was a sad day, but it went to another Moderator here Iceman21 (Mike). At least I know it's got a good home now.
A few pics of the DSM over the past couple years:

50 trim installed:

Then I got a new car. It's a 2001 Harley Davidson edition F-150. I absolutely love this truck! I got the non/sc one because I'm broke and it's what I could afford. I plan on buying a stock lightning supercharger and bolting it on for a little extra power. I miss my DSM, but I just am not financially able to keep it at this point in my life. Maybe someday I'll have another one.

Well there you have it. Maybe I'll re-do my essay that I had written and repost it here, but till then this will have to do.
Comments, questions, concerns, etc. are all welcome.

Keepin it real with the DSM-Talk logo on the f-150. Now that's cool as hell. Looks good man. Love those wheels. I almost got those for my explorer. How's it on Gas?

Not very good at all, but I only drive ~50 miles a week to school and work.
I probably get 16-18 city and 21 highway. 12-14 if I really have a heavy foot.

25 MAYBE 30 miles an hour. It was on an ice covered parking lot. Slid straight into a pole, nothing I could do to stop it.

Yea it was definetly a shitty day. On my 18th birthday too.
Brakes locked up and I couldn't steer either way. Of course, I got sooo lucky and hit the only post in the 2 acre parking lot.

Nice truck, but what errors on your part made you go through 3 motors?
First one the block got cracked in the accident, second the thrust bearing was installed incorrectly by a friend of mine (I made the mistake of not double checking his work  ), and then it was on it's third motor.
Jiu Jitsu Joe
11-27-2006, 09:58 AM
Your friend covered the cost of the 3rd motor right? Since he didn't do the work correctly?
BigBoostDSM
11-27-2006, 03:42 PM
Nope. He denied everything and claimed that he didn't help me at all
Oh well, you live and you learn. That rebuild had cost me a total of 300 dollars because all I replaced at the time were the gaskets and bearings. To be honest, I wish I had of just kept the motor with the crack in it. It ran PERFECTLY. I mean, it was smooth and quiet. Even with the crack in it.

I love the DSM-Talk logo on the f-150, thats awesome. Also love the color on the 1G.
BigBoostDSM

Thanks!
The color is just your basic maroon, I've seen countless other 1g's in the same color as mine. It was actually the only color that I didn't want at the time, but since it was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up. It ended up growing on my anyways :P

I am having a good time trying to find a motor for this puppy.

Nope, they came N/A in 00 and 01. 02 and 03 were s/c. No worries though, the plan is to have it blown by the end of next summer. I am also helping my girlfriends dad turbo his 01 harley truck.

Oh no worries, there will be a full writeup with pics and specs on here once it's done. It looks just like mine on the outside but under hood is a little different  He actually just picked the turbo up a couple days ago, it's a precision GT 4202RL-11, 74mm ballbearing turbo, it should make 1200 hp w 28-30 psi
Yea, I still regret getting rid of the DSM. I loved that car like a child, I had so much time, energy, and money in it. It just wasn't worth the hassle at this point in my life. I'm a junior in college and I need to be able to get around more than I need a race car.
I did manage to get to the track once before I sold it. It ran a best of 12.2 @ 110. I didn't get a chance to launch it though, so it definetly had an 11 second pass in it. Maybe in the future I will pick another one up.

Update - I have all the pieces to the supercharger upgrade except an Intercooler. It's turning out to be a complete pain in the ass to find. Once I get the IC and a tuner, my girlfriends dad (Who owns a performance shop specializing in these trucks) Is going to help me put it together and tune it.
Should be done by the beginning of summer :D

Yet another update -
Got a dual gauge pod from the girl's dad for Christmas. I installed it and an Oil press/EGT gauge that I had left from the dizzum. I'm ordering the boost gauge and a steering column pod for the truck next week.
Getting a tuner for my birthday too :D
Still no luck on an intercooler though :(

Time for a quick update (Copy/pasted from another forum):
Question first: Does anyone know the name brand of the tail light tinting spray paint? I can't for the life of me remember what it's called. I want to get a new look to the truck and I think I'm going to black out the stock tails I have and if I like them, I'll pick up a set of L tails to do. If you know the brand it'd be appreciated.
Felt like takin some pics of the truck now that I had the new tires on. First pic is a pic of my cracked windshield, I'm getting it replaced on Thursday or Friday whenever it comes in (Dealer only part my body guys had to order). Anyways here's some pics:

Since I haven't updated the pics in a while I guess I'll do so. Mods since last update:
-New sub/amp/wiring/box
-2" rear drop (just to level it out, I actually drive this thing so I don't want it slammed)
-Removed the stock lower graphic, hoping to either get flames airbrushed on or get the stock 02 flame graphics to put on there. Not sure which yet (depends on money)
-Tinted the tail lights with the Nightshades that I mentioned previously
-New brakes (though you can't really tell since they're hard to see :P)
After lowering (I did the nightshades already by that time)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v655/bigboostdsm/IMG_0572.jpg
Nightshades, did both the tail lights and the 3rd brake light so it blended into the window surround. I'd ultimately like to get a solid rear window in place of the slider and at that point I'd have the surround smoothed and painted gloss black. I've since added 2 more coats of NS and 4 coats of clear to the tail lights so they are a little bit darker and shinier...looking to get some 01-04 L tails and tint them as well, they are smooth instead of having the 3 bumps like these tails.

Wasn't a valid option at that point in my life. I miss the DSM but I don't regret getting rid of it.
I live 550 miles from my parents and I visit them 6 or 7 times a year, the DSM never would have done that. Plus I never have to worry whether or not my truck will start in the morning like I did with the DSM.

Nice! You said that you added two more coats. How many did you do initially? I know that you have to do alot of coats to get it dark. I really like the look. Did it dim the tail lights at all? Just wondering cause a frien of mine had someone tint his and he keeps getting pulled over for dim tail lights.

There's like 5 coats of nightshades and about the same of clear. No, they look the same to me...I also have the LED bar below the tailgate which helps add extra brake lights. I haven't gotten hassled for it (yet :P)
