View Full Version : 5th Annual Team Trinity GMU 2007 meet

A little early but the new year meet has been scheduled. For the 5th year, Team Trinity will host the George Mason Meet on March 10, 2007, rain date set for March 17, '07. Meet will be held at the Fairfax campus of George Mason University, parking lot K. Nothing has been set in stone but plans include an awd chassis dyno on site along with the usual few vendors, food, drinks(non-alcoholic) and a raffle. I will update the thread when I find out more myself. The dates are absolute so you should have more than enough time to plan around it. Post here if you plan to attend so we accomodate. The reason for the early scheduling is because we always seem to have way more attend the anticipated so this year, we want to make it better for everyone.
For those that have attended before, please pm me with any suggestions that may make for a better show/meet/hangout.
As always, no alcohol, weapons, violence, careless driving etc will be tolerated. If any of these rules are broken, you will be escorted off of the premises. This is all about having fun, so dont let someone ruin it for the rest of us.

5th Annual GMU DSM Meet
Sponsored by Team Trinity
March 10, 2007 @ 1:00pm
Parking Lot K, GMU Fairfax Campus
First, Team Trinity just wanted to say thanks to everyone who came out last year to help support the DSM community. This year, we’d like to see even more people out there! We have invited some new vendors including VIP Garage, PTuning, and possibly a few others. They will be set up along with Slowboy Racing, Electronic Plus and Redline Design to showcase their new products for the season and donate prizes for our raffle drawing. Raffle tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. We would also like to encourage everyone to bring extra parts they have laying around taking up space for a Swap Meet.
There will be a few changes for this years event. Due to University restrictions we are not allowed to prepare and sell burgers and hotdogs, so we will have drinks, bagged chips and candy bars available by donation. We now have to rent the lot from GMU so the money from the raffle ticket sales and donations will be help pay for Lot K.
Did someone say Dyno!!
Slowboy will be bringing their dyno pack for anyone who would like to get an idea on how much power they are putting out. They can run FWD, AWD and RWD cars.
Here is a link to the map and address of the GMU Fairfax Campus.

Lot K is located across from the pond.
Go to www.team-trinity.com for more details.
Hope to see you there!

As of today, there is a 30% of a few showers, and the temp will be in the mid 50s.
Knowing the area though, this is very subject to change.

My car is currently Maf-less and and ECUless. If I can get my sensors in order, and some soft of base tune on the AEM, I'll drive the talon out. If not, It's yellow Xterra time!

Yea there are a bunch of brands now making them. I had a VIS but due to using crappy hoodpins the hood developed a bunch of cracks I assume due to it slightly fluctuating up and down during highway drives. Check out frankscustomfiberglass.com they have great stuff too. I don't know whether I will be getting another one anytime soon cause I kinda like the new look with it off. It went from looking mean with black headlight covers too to now just looking plain clean.

Understood.
We are planning on leaving Friday at 4:30 P.M. from Pa regardless, so we will be there!
As well, if anyone is in the area for dinner or drinks that night, let us know, there will be 5-6 of us from the shop coming down.

Looks like no one wants to post a review of this meet....
I went hoping to meet a lot of you, but once i got there, I just saw unattended DSMs :(. I understand that this was more of a car meet, rather then a DSM meet. Maybe I was expecting more????

Well, i guess it has to be expected that the 1gs and 2gs numbers are starting to decrese. Though we were very happy with the turnout, we believe at one point we had 200+ cars their.
We would like to thank everyone who did comeout. Maybe next year alot more cars will be up and running, and more will make it out. That seams to be the case, everyone is broken.
We really would like to thank all the shops that made it out to help support us. VIP Garage, PTunning, SandBlastAmerica, Electironics Plus, Techademics, Redlinedesign, and SlowBoyRacing.

My '91 TSi was not done, but I came out with my '93 TSI and my Dad brought his GSX.
I was disappointed by the weak showing and am glad I didn't bust my ass to finish the '91. I was also pissed about all the non-DSMs that invaded the show. I belong to some other regional car forums and they have pictures posted of all the other cars that were there except DSMs.
I don't hate on other cars, but normally if there is a "Honda" or "Mustang" meet I don't come in my DSM and park in the show field.

Why was nothing done about the asshat in the new style maroon Mustang that came into the show feild spinning his tires trying to drift.
He was doing that crap less than 100 feet where people were standing in the road including myself and my daughter. He came real close to getting busted in the head with the ball peen hammer I had in my car.

Im very sorry about that. I must admit i didnt hear it, or see it. Im sure if anyone else associated with Team-Trinity would of sceen this they would of, and should of asked them to leave. We do our best to keep everything in check, and to keep the enviornment safe for everyone, that most certainly is to include children. Having a young daughter myself (20 months) i really wouldnt of blamed you for going off on the guy, cracking him in the head with a hammer may of been a bit of over kill though.
Again, im very sorry that wasnt delt with, and im glad everyone is ok.

*swoon* Chris, you had me at hello :D
If she was hot then she probably was with me :) (Where's DSSA to make sexy talk about Anne ;) ). Seriously, I would have loved to meet people. I have this disorder that I feel like every car person is egotistical and self-centered. THe only remedy for this, is to meet DSMers and convince myself that this is only true with the BMW crowd :tree:

Well if you are still living in College Park or even the surrounding areas like Silver Spring, Laurel, whereever, I am usually always around and would def be down to meet up. Things get kinda hectic with school but there is always time. Maybe once I put my 880s in with link and whatever else you can help me tune my car
