Texas Shootout

Hey guys are there anyone in or around austin maybe looking to meet up and try and see if we can get a texas dsm shootout started or maybe just a gathering.:wall:

Well first if we can get enough ppl to do it, then pic where to, i was thinking a larger city like Austin, Houston, S.A, or Dallas. Do you have any good places in Houston to set up and event like this?

Just anything we could get away with, I just want to get some ppl intrested in doing this so we can brainstorm and make this come true.

I was thinking about trying the same thing for So Cal. A couple people I have known since I was 5 are good friends with the owners of California Speedway in Fontana and I was thinking about using my 'contacts' to try to set something up next year.

I was thinking of trying to get something done for aug or there abouts of 2008. I want to try to talk to some local shops and stuff and get some sponsers there and all that good stuff. We have a number of DSM/EVO shops in So Cal ( RRE, Tuning Technologies ) to name a couple that might be willing to do something, hell maybe even get a DYNO Day going as well. I will start hashing out a plan and see what I can do with it. Keep on my ass to keep me motivated.

I Figure Fontana is a good place because you have LA, SD, the Inland Empire and vegas not too far away. Thats quite a number of cars possible.

well i see maybe doing a convoy on the way over there. could be fun.how many dsm's do you know of between austin tx to there, maybe u could talk to them and we can start a sign up sheet, names and locations?

I know quite a few. Remember, We had MOD 06 out here. I personally know about 20 DSM'rs out here plus with businesses like Road Race Engineering etc I am sure we could get a good turn out. I know there is a big vegas group as well. I think we could do very well, maybe even surpass Bushur not that I would want to but it would be awsome if him and Shep could attend. That goes for Evil as well.

I would figure it could possibly be a two day event. California Speedway has a ton of parking and many near by locations for renting a hotel. I will see what info I can scrape up in the next couple of weeks. I am giong to call Rob at Road Race and Alfred at Tuning Technologies and see if they would be interested in trying to get something going. I am even planning on contacting Mitsu of North America and see if they would be willing to be there as well.

I am waiting on my contact with California Speedway to Email me back with some info on who I should talk to etc. I need to find out prices and all that.

I live in San Antonio. We have a drag strip. We could plan a meet up there. I know a few ppl with dsm's. Plus i know a few guys with srt-4's that we can invite and just take turns womping on all day. haha. But theres a good amount of dsm's and evo's out here.

A few years back, someone from the Austin area organized a all Texas DSM meet. I came down with some folks from the Dallas area and had a pretty good time hanging out with everyone. The next year there was a race at the track in the San Antonio area for all the Texas DSM folks, but I don't think it went over too well, as there hasn't been another one since. If someone organizes a meet like this, I know there's a few folks in the D/FW area who would come down for it wherever it's at.

I have contacted David Buschur asking him for whatever tips and info he could supply.

I have contacted several people at California Speedway to find out the pricing and such for setting up a event.

I still need to contact Rob at RRE, Someone at Mitsu, Alfred at Tuning Technologies and a few other places to see if any of them would be interested. I am going to do everything in my power to get something going for 2008. Hell, I dont know if I am going to be able to sleep now. I have been working on stuff for this for the last couple hours now and I am all pumped with excitment. I hope this works out.

I'd meet in dallas it's only 2 hours away from me
