So the tax return is on its way and I need some new springs. I bought the car (91 AWD) with ground control coilovers and KYB AGX's. The GC coil overs came with 400lb in the front and 350lb in the rear. The ride is wayyyy to harsh. The shocks are set at their softest setting.
From what I've read the stock talon springs are 150# (i had a stock talon for 5 years and this wasnt bad but could have been better) My last car was a mazdaspeed protege with 185#'s all around. That car handled great. And was still comfortable.
I was thinking of going for 200lb's all around. The car is only for street use.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks Bryan

I'd go with the tried and true Eibach prokit and the AGX's.

Personally, I would never go with coilovers unless your car is going to be auto xing a lot. For a DD, coilovers are just way to harsh.

Not sure how they ride on 1g's but 2'' sprint springs and kyb's FTW

DAMNN!!! I hated those on my car. I had GC coilovers and KYB AGX as well. If you enjoy cornering at all, I would opt for a full coilover system!! I just got some megans and I love them!!! I am riding on rails in the corners. GC coilovers or any sleeved coil-over will send you to bump stop city!!! If you just want a drop and a comffy ride, the KYB's aren't bad shocks at all, just pick up some lowering springs to your preference. That will give you the springy absorbant feeling. Full coilovers will give you the stiffness to knock the breath out of you, but the suspension stroke smooths things out enough not to turn the windshield wipers on...!! GOOD LUCK> Keep in mind, Full-Coilovers are not much more in cost than inferior setups, but I am biased and bent on turning everyone into that one time buy that keeps them happy!!!

The springs they provide with the kit are way too harsh. But GC sells eibach springs at various rates. So rather than scrounge up the stock hardware I was just going to buy some softer springs and put those in and was looking for some input as to what spring rates people have had success with.
and the car came with the GC's and i'm on a fairly limeted budget.

I'll be going with the KYB AGX struts and some Eibach springs. Not sure whether to go with the Pro-kit springs or the Sportline springs.

I have the pro kit with agx's. Great daily driver set up. I've heard the sportlines handle like poo.

Again if you like the breath knocked out of you, I like 12kg (front) 10kg (rear) If you want compfort float I would go with 8 (f) 6(r). All depends on your preference....make sure front rate is higher than rear!!!

How and why would the sportlines handle like "poo"? They give you a lower center of gravity with a better spring rate.

That doesn't always add up to good handling, depending on the roads. I've known several people who had sportlines and switched to prokits because they were too harsh and didn't provide adequate clearance.

Touche. I've also heard that the 2g GS-Ts sit pretty low to begin with. (in comparison to the GSX) Sportlines could be to low. I'm not modded yet and stilll rub driveways every now and then.
