My favorite ride so far. Current mods are intake, TBE, ECU flashed, MBC, clutch, 264-272's and a FP. It's undergoing a 2.3L transplant next weekend after a main bearing spun with Eagle rods, Wiseco pistons and a 2.4L crank.

That thing looks so bad ass with the black wheels. Props on it.
BTW, any dyno or track numbers with your setup?

Yeah, but they have to be redone. I painted them initially. I have access to a professional powdercoating setup at work so they'll be redone while the engine is out.
Only 1 track run. 12.3@113. She started clattering a few weeks after that. :(

Every time I see a clean Evo I think about getting one for a DD. Clean car man. Good luck with the new motor!

Black and red is the most evil of all color combo's. I love it!
Good to know that you still lurk around these parts.
When can we expect more pics?

If I decide to keep it after the rebuild, and that's a big if, I'm sure I'll take some more pics.
Last spring when I bought it, I took a lot at the shore and around West Chester PA but most were accidently deleted.

Rebuilding it and then selling it? All to common these days...I don't get it. :(

It's not by choice in any way. I promised my wife that I was buying a reliable car. Within a few months of owning it, the dealer had denied the warranty to fix the trans, then the motor blew. I'm now out nearly $4K all told. I immediately bought most of the parts to do a 2.3L and planned to keep it anyway. About 2 months ago, we decided to, literally overnight, buy a house a year sooner than planned. Now we're moved in and I alone have the cost of the Evo, a mortgage, bills, a newborn and my wife needs a new car. It's expensive as hell. She just landed a part time position in a nursing home (in school for her registered nurse degree so she hasn't been working much). If they pay her fairly well, which they indicate they will do, I'll refinance the loan to get a lower monthly payment and then keep it. Otherwise I have to sell it, take the extra cash I'll make after paying it off, and buy something else. Most likely.....another Evo (yeah sounds retarded I know) but with no issues this time. I bought mine knowing it needed 5th gear fixed and that was ignorant on my part.
If I do keep it, I have a turbonetics T61 just itching for a home under the hood. I just have to fab up a DP/mani combo and pick up a wastegate.

I feel your pain. I just moved to the Phillly burbs for a job which forced the wife to quit her job. So right now I have all the bills on me as well. I hope it works out for you man!

Forgot to update this. 2.3L is in (and rocks) Somehow a T61 has forced it's way into the engine bay with an LC-1. I should have it back on the road this week (waiting for the DP inlet gasket).
