Hello guys, just purchased my 2nd GVR4 with a HALTECH E6K
and I was wondering how good this thing is? I've heard alot of great things about it, but don't know anything about it.
My other car has a VPC and car is just balls out fun.
Should I get rid of it and install a VPC, cause I don't know anyone who know how to tune it. Your suggestions and help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Andrew

I don't have one, but my friend does, and I have spent many long hours helping him tune it. All I can say is "you're in for it, buddy!". It's a pain in the ass. The only way to REALLY do it right would be to tune it on a dyno, but that's not very practical. My best advice is to become a member of the Haltech/DSM forum on eGroups. There are a few experts that frequent that board that offered tons of help to my friend.

as far as adjustability and tuneability, the haltech blows away a stock computer/vpc combo...(MUCH faster processor, you can adjust every parameter.. etc, etc.) the problem is tuning, and its a pain in the ass.. you need lots of dyno time, or a long stretch of road with no cops and about three friends in the car to watch everything.... and a good lambda meter.. etc.. etc.. it also requires a laptop and the correct software to tune it... if you plan on keeping it i know that extreme motorsports uses haltechs on their real fast cars... they may be of assistance...

I have a Haltech E6k, I love it. I installed and completely tuned it from scratch. You will need the following things to tune the car:
A laptop
E6k software
Tuning experience and knowledge
ways to monitor A/F
Big Balls
Lots of patience
A friend to drive the car to help save time on tuning every once in a while

*If you have no experience or don't know how the Haltech works, and are just good at turning little knobbies on the VPC then find a tuner shop to do your car for you.... unless you a like a blown motor or a slow ass car.
