Hey guys, I did a few searches, and looked at the Vfaq for the lifter removal, but after that point I found no other information about installing cams.

Is it basically a bolt on operations, with the exception that I have to zip tie the cam gears to the timing belt, and then once I am done, make sure the tension on the timing belt is correct. How do I adjust to the correct tension?

And the instrucitons from WebCam says to replaces shims, and other parts.. Is that needed?

Thanks
Peter

You need the tensioner tool... RRE sends one with cams when you order them. Otherwise, I would check with a local dealer maybe?

A friend of mine has the tool so I didn't worry about it. Perhaps someone local to you has one.

As far as your other questions, I don't know the answer.

If you're planning on replacing the cams by yourself with no help from anyone who's done it before I highly reccomend you get the shop manual, or the shop manual CD.

cams are easy as hell to do, just look at the manual for the torque specs and you are set. I wouldn't bother replacing the shims or other valvetrain components unless they are unusually worn or old, I didn't with my webcams. to adjust the tension, you basically play guess and check, its pretty simple to do, follow the T-belt VFAQ. You normally don't need to adjust the tension though. Just set the eccentric pulley to 2-3ft/lbs (basically line the 2 holes upwards) and the auto tensioner should take care of the rest. if the exposed tensioner length is too long take of the belt and try again.
