After losing my Red car (see the other GSX-Lex's ride), I tried to rebuild another DSM. Soon after aquiring one, I came to the conclusion that I'd only be trying to recreate what I already had with my original car. I decided to try something different yet keep it within the DSM family (or distant cousin ;)). I picked a 2005 Apex Silver Evo VIII SSL from a good friend of mine, who is to involved in his DSM project to keep this Evo (those of you that know who I'm talking about, understand what I mean).

It is currently stock and will only be modified to perfom in track type racing (ie NASA/SCCA events); so don't hold your breath for a turbo swap any time soon. I've always wanted to road race, and this car will give me a good starting platform.

I really don't. In fact I hate that area altogether (I can't help but feel like my stolen car parts are floating around the "muchachos" that hang out there on Saturday nights). I also hate having to use the same spot twice for pictures (which is why I only posted up 4-5 pics out of the 150 that I took). I need to find better spots in MD. We don't have many industrial areas.

Holy shit! I just relized your evo is in the same exact spot that your GSX was sitting when I first joined. I have nightmares of my talon getting stole now. When I was first started getting into your DSM's your car motivated me to get it to the point that it is at now. Even now actually.

Wait the same Target near the Sports Authority, Old Navy in Rockville? I remember they had meets there on Saturdays. I used to go there every now now and then. After some time it stopped:dunno: . I guess it did become to hot.....

My clutch is on it's last leg (read: any day now, I'm going to be stranded on the side of the road). I have a clutch and Flywheel ready to go in, but the shop that I moonlighted at closed, so I really don't have the space to do the work.

AutoXing is tons of fun. It's much harder than it looks. I have some turning experience, as I have done driving clinics before, but those were in Miatas and other cars of similar size. The Evo is a totally different boat. Don't get me wrong, I still beat the pants out of alot of cars that day, but upon watching the vids, I totally looked like a noob (which I am sort of).

It was a tough decision for me, I wanted to stay off the police radar as much as possible, so I decided to keep the CF to a minimum (front lip only). I swapped the the headlights and taillights for a set of JDM VIII MR ones, so she looks much nicer.

Don, This is starting to look like my only option. The next couple of weekends are no good, but maybe sometime in September, we can swing this (if your up for it).

After MUCH thought and deliberation, I decided to go with the ACT combo for several reasons. Originally, I was going to go the Exedy twin route, but I just can't justify it for the amount of power I plan on making. I also like the idea of the clutch being the weakest part of the drivetrain. I'm big on "parts geared for the setup" instead of " I'll buy a 500 whp clutch for a car that might see 350 whp here and there".

Not to mention, I got a sick deal on it :).

Don and I should be able to knock this bad bitch out in a day ;). Let me know when you are free Don.

I had the same deliberation, and same ending result. ACT HDSS / Prolite.

I didn't feel like spending exedy money. And so far the clutch is tolerating power past its holding capacity. Good news for me.

PDW is no more. Eric decided to vest more into the family business and he did not have time to do the shop thing. It really sucks, and if I lived closer, things would have been different, but who know what the future brings ;).

I'm not really tuning much anymore. I take on a project here and there, but nothing concrete.
