Sunday the 27th, California Speedway in Fontana is Battle of the Imports.
Wondering who all is going. Last year, only one DSM showed up. Mine will be running so I will be there, Talontsi150 and his Brother should be there as well but we need more people there.

I meant 29th
Should have the car getting tuned this weekend, mostly at Perris if all goes well. That is, if I can get a OS on my laptop tomorrow.
Oil Return line should be fixed in a hour or so... I am going for my 12's and hopefully 11's. Going all out people, 25+psi on a stock head/studs/gasket. Early next month, my engine is being pulled and the new one is going in to replace it.

Ive been wanting to go but it depends on my smoking problem. If it was just a blown turbo and clogged pcv than I should be there. I really dont wanna show up in my mommas honda just to watch.:(

Oil return on, car running...erm Idling fine. Didnt get a chance to drive it. Spent about 2 hours cutting on the front bumper to get it to fit with the new FMIC and piping. Apparently the FMIC setup is going to have to sit off center, I cant get it to center corrently. I may try to move it 1/8th of an inch tomorrow but if I remember correctly that didnt help either.
All I need now is a new reserc tube which Autozone should have something that works. Installing OS on laptop so that should be taken care of as of tonight so I can hit the Perris Friday night and get some launching practice in and some tuning in.

Well that some good new to hear that everything is turning out for you,
but there is bad news.
On the Perris Website, it is posted that there will be no Races this friday the 20th. :( Sorry to tell you. But glad to tell you so you don't have to drive down for nothing.

Check it out for yourself it's posted on Homepage.

Go down to Clutch Masters in Rialto.
Exit Riverside Ave, go North
Make a right at Valley, its about 1/4 mile down on the right hand side.
I asked them about balancing my flywheel/clutch and said it would be something like $50.
Guess I will be tuning on the freeway then.

I dont see a problem with running open downpipe. Only during street legals is that not allowed, that I know of.

Yeah, they should be there. I am going to be test driving my car tonight to see if it over heats, if it does then I know my HG may be to blame. I need to see if my fan is turning on or not as well, if its not then I know that is to blame. I was boosting 25-26psi on the stock HG and Studs last time at Street Legals. Going to be doing the same again at battle, might up it to 30, who knows hehe.

The way you walked away from me in third I see no reason why you shouldn't pull low 12's if not high 11's

Was that you I raced!?
I did not know that.
I was doing a whole 17mph at the end of 1st gear due to spinning, hooked finally in the middle of 2nd. I was so expecting to get stomped. My 2.7 60' sucked as well. I managed to knock off .8 on a 60' and .6 on my quarter time and gain 4mph.
if all goes well, I should be doing much better at BotI. I want to have the car tuned before the event instead of tuning at the track.
problem is, I cant find my drivers for my USB to Serial connector. Without that, no DSMLink which means no tune.

Punishment Racing's Stainless Steel Tubular Manifold and Stainless Steel o2 Housing.
As for everything else, got the car aligned and I will be at Battle. Just need to do some tuning. Did a pull a few minutes ago on the way back from Pepboys and DSMLink is showing 379 @ 6600 RPM's at 19psi so... 12's here I come!

Jason, just in case you still need a serial to usb driver the can be found here:
http://www.autonostics.com/pages.php?pageid=3
Yeah I just cannot get the 19's to slip like they do on the street. I also missed 4th as I was suprised you were walking me so bad! The stockers will be on and hopefully I can pull some mid 1.7 to 1.8 60' times like I should and a 12.8-12.9 should be had at about 102-103mph.

Well, if I can get tuned by friday and get some practice in, I am shooting for low 12's at BotI or high 11's. I should do good with 25psi at least on the 20g, I may up it higher as I dont expect to run this motor again after sunday. I am going to tune for 25 this week and then may up it at Perris this Friday.
Shooting for 1.6-1.7 60's which going by the best time I had last weekend will get me into the mid 12's with no tune.

EE Here,
Meeting place is 6:30am at Carl Jr on the Corner of Valley and Cherry next to AM PM. Got a few guys going to be meeting us there so we can get drinks, ice etc and breakfast. I will be there around 6am or so.
Oh and bring a camera, we will have a few there but that will make sure we get all the DSM's on tape and make sure we get some good video.

I'll try to make it to Carl's but I have to wait for Chris. I live down the street from the track off Cherry. What class are you running in "fun run" or one of the classes with a purse?
The_EE
07-29-2007, 12:40 AM
I dont know what class I will be running in. Whatever seems best. I would like to go for some cash winnings but I dont think my car is going to be that consistant and I have not had much in the way of practice. Freaking Perris was pro light which kinda screws me up. Also, their track prep was asstastic so I hope with the better prep I will get much cleaner ( less 1st and 2nd gear spin ) launches.
My car has never felt better, I have a crapload of top end and I think.. hope 12's are in my future. Going to do a tad bit of tuning on the way out to the track tomorrow. Need to raise the boost 3 psi.

Ran into a little problem myself. Broke an axle on my second run, first round of qualifying. I took the jump on my friends white wingless evo ( 386hp 374tq ) and had him all the way to the top of second, all of a sudden my car lost power ( broke the axle ), regained it and I started to catch up to him but ran out of track. He ran a 12.1 at 114 and I ran a 12.6 at 113 I believe it was ( time slips in car ). Had I not lost power, with how much top end I have, I would have went from a 13.1 to a high 11 second run.
I ended up getting a final run in after I tracked down a axle but spun all the way thru 1st and second and still ran a 13.2 at 111.something.

I do what I can to help bro. Its about the only thing that gives me joy in life, kinda like running 12's finally...
now I need 11's heh. Aug 11th. Every run that doesnt net 11's means I raise the boost 2 psi.. maybe I will try raising timing 1 degree every time I dont get 11's. Still running pig rich after 6000 rpms even after dropping 6% fuel in that area. I will have my 11's or the engine will pop.. one or the other. Hope to see you guys there on the 11th

I have Video, But it's not on my Digi Cam. I have to go buy the adapter to take the Casette and burn it to a DVD format or another format and be able to put it on my COmputer and load it up.
Good Runs, It was hot as hell though.
EE, i don't know if you remember, but when you were driving down the side lane right next to the track, I was the one towards the TimeBoards against the barrier that gave you the thumbs up. I was with my Pops. Good Runs though.
I see 11's :D

Sorry, I didnt see ya, I was so pissed about the axle. I didnt know what had happened on the second run, I just knew I had lost power in second but when I checked my log, there was no indication of knock. I had gotten in line for my second qualifying run and it hit me, the freaking axle. I check and sure enough.. that was the problem so I opted out and drove down broken hearts lane.
There is always 11's on the 11th or as everyone else would call it, Street legals Aug 11th. I will be there shooting for my new goal.
