Hail all you DSM gurus,

I herein bring my humble question to those with more wisdom and experience....

Is it possible to detect knock without having a knock sensor?? Are there any other peripheral signs of knock that can easily be monitored?? (Temps, O2 etc.)

Or is it possible to build your own knock sensor???

Or to put it another way...how can I tune my car with a Apexi ITC on my NT without blowing everything up??

you *could* watch your egt's and o2 voltages, which should be enough to give you an idea of how far you can go, just don't overdo it, and try to keep it as close to full rich as you can. Especially if you have a 1G, sure we don't have boost but our pistons aren't the strongest either, it'll handle knock just not for prolonged periods of time. Oh, and when you test, make sure you have higher octane gas in (93+)
